Full Job Description
This role will initially support two separate operating businesses, with the opportunity to grow in scope as the organization evolves.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and capable Senior Finance Analyst to work directly with the CFO in overseeing the financial operations of multiple separate entities.

This is a senior-level role suited for someone ready to take ownership of core accounting and reporting functions, strengthen financial controls, and contribute to strategic financial decision-making across multiple businesses. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a variety of operating models and financial structures, with a clear development path toward stepping into a Controller role within 12-18 months.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to operate independently in a multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the CFO in overseeing financial operations across three independently incorporated businesses under common ownership.
  • Take ownership of the month-end close process for each entity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and provide meaningful analysis of results and variances.
  • Assist with quarterly financial reviews and preparation of reporting materials for leadership discussions.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process for each business.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide ongoing reporting on the financial condition of each entity.
  • Strengthen internal controls and identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements (GST, PST, corporate filings, etc.).
  • Manage intercompany transactions where applicable and ensure proper documentation.
  • Oversee or support transactional accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and cash management.
  • Support tax planning and financial structuring initiatives as the businesses grow.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information and strategic plans.
  • Use and learn all organizational technology systems as defined by the company.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the CFO.


Required Qualifications
  • CPA designation (completed or near completion) strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or controllership functions.
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience leading or heavily owning month-end close processes.
  • Experience working with multiple entities or complex corporate structures is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to operate independently and prioritize across multiple businesses.
  • High level of integrity and discretion.
  • Clear interest in growing into a Controller role.
  • Proven experience working within the insurance industry is required for this role.
