About the role:

As a Senior Field Service Engineer you will to support the planning, preparation, execution, and closeout of complex field service activities. You will lead field teams through high-consequence work, and work directly with customers, project teams, engineering, quality, supply chain, and site leadership.

You will be the technical lead on field assignments. You will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable procedures, customer requirements, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.

You will report to the Program Manager of Reactor Services and Reactor Components Upgrades and be located at our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. This is a hybrid position that requires 2 days in office per week and up to 30% travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead field service activities from planning through execution and closeout, including job preparation, equipment readiness, procedure review, site coordination, and technical issue resolution.
  • Provide on-site technical direction during installations, inspections, maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Review project scope, drawings, work packages, procedures, travelers, and technical documentation to ensure field readiness and execution quality.
  • Support the development, review, and improvement of field service procedures, work instructions, job plans, and technical reports.
  • Coordinate with project managers, outage managers, engineering, quality, logistics, supply chain, and customer representatives to align field execution with project goals.
  • Verify that personnel, tooling, equipment, documentation, and required certifications are in place before mobilization.
  • Lead pre-job briefs; challenge reviews, readiness reviews, risk assessments, lessons learned reviews, and post-job debriefs.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in the field and coordinate resolutions with engineering and customers.
  • Ensure work is performed following applicable safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers, field engineers, technicians, and craft personnel in technical methods, field practices, and customer-facing execution.
  • Prepare accurate field service reports, condition reports, technical summaries, customer updates, and closeout documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve field execution, reduce risk, improve schedule performance, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a safety culture, including human performance behaviors, procedural adherence, and conservative decision-making.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, nuclear engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in field service, plant services, outage support, commissioning, maintenance, technical services, or engineering support for complex industrial equipment.
  • Experience with work planning, technical procedures, quality requirements, field documentation, and safe work execution.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, test plans, and technical documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, controls, or system-level issues in the field.
  • Meet requirements of Westinghouse and customer security, unescorted access, and fitness for duty programs and training requirements.
  • Occasionally carry/lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Full range of motion i.e. ability to reach, climb, kneel, squat, grasp, bend forwards and backwards, sit, and stand for at least 4 hours per day
  • Pass a Westinghouse physical which includes a spirometer for the ability to wear a respirator.
  • Travel up to 30% of the time, maintain "Unescorted Access" status, and work with hazardous materials in a radiological controlled area within an operating nuclear power plant.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200.00 to $106,500.000 per year.
