Harvest Operations is currently recruiting a
Senior Field HSE Advisor, reporting to the Team Lead, Health and Safety. The Senior Field HSE Advisor partners directly with Operations, Maintenance, contractors and leadership to identify and manage operational risk, verify implementation of Harvest's HSE Management System, support incident investigations and emergency response, and provide practical coaching and assurance at the worksite level. The role requires extensive field engagement and the confidence to positively influence work at all levels of the organization.

What we are looking forOur ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive health and safety experience, preferably within upstream oil and gas operations, with substantial field-based experience. An equivalent combination of education, professional designation and relevant experience will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of applicable health, safety and environmental legislation and regulatory requirements in Alberta and British Columbia.
- Demonstrated experience with H&S management systems, incident investigation and root cause analysis, audit and assurance processes, emergency management, regulatory compliance, and contractor safety.
- Incident Command System (ICS) certification (100 required), 200 would be considered an asset.
- Valid Intermediate (formerly Standard) First-Aid Level of Certification (Advanced would be considered and asset).
- Valid H2S Alive as Harvest has operations in critical sour areas.
- Confined Space Rescue would be considered an asset but not a requirement.
- Formal incident investigation training provided by a recognized institute within Western Canada.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to field locations, including remote sites, as required.
Our ideal candidate will also have:
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and provincial health, safety and environmental regulations, with the ability to interpret requirements and apply them in operational settings.
- Proficient in hazard identification, job safety analysis, critical control management and risk-based decision-making.
- Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis and developing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Ability to analyze H&S data, audits, inspections and trends to generate insights, metrics and decision-support reporting.
- Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills;
- Strong work ethic and the desire to excel in a fast-paced environment;
- Proven ability to accurately manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
What you will doField Safety Leadership & Engagement
- Participate in field safety meetings, facility safety inspections and field equipment inspections;
- Attend and provide safety support for major outages and turnarounds;
- Coach and engage field personnel, conduct inspections and observations, and participate in worksite meetings to support safe operational execution.
- Identify and communicate unsafe conditions or behaviours and exercise stop-work authority where an imminent or serious risk to people, environment, assets or regulatory compliance exists.
- Interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including outside service vendors.
Risk Management, Compliance & Assurance
- Take part in incident investigations and prepare recommendations and corrective actions as required;
- Ensure effective follow-up of recommendations that evolve from safety meetings, hazard identifications, incident investigations, etc.;
- Engage workers in job safety assessments, hazard assessments and risk assessments; ensure risks are identified and appropriate hazard controls are in place;
- Perform NORMS measuring, Sound Level monitoring and VOC/H2S assessments across all field areas, as required;
- Provide guidance on implementation and execution of processes and procedures that comply with company expectations (i.e. annual fire extinguisher inspections, audiometric testing and fit testing);
- Ensure the requirements of the Harvest Environmental Health & Safety Management System are met;
- Establish and steward an annual H&S audits, inspection, and assurance plan; verify field implementation; track findings; and ensure corrective and preventive actions are closed effectively.
Training, Procedures & Contractor Management
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities, drills and exercises and provide HSE support during field emergencies and incident response, as required.
- Provide for training and orientation of supervisors, existing staff and new hires; develop and update orientations as required;
- Develop and train to site specific Health & Safety SOPs as required by the operating area;
- Support contractor prequalification and onboarding and conduct field verification of contractor compliance, competency, hazard controls and adherence to Harvest requirements.
- Conduct or coordinate NORM screening, occupational noise monitoring and VOC/H₂S exposure assessments.
