The PositionThe Senior Manager of Field Engagement will align field marketing strategies with sales objectives to enhance healthcare professional engagement and key account prioritization. This includes developing effective field communications, coordinating with training for new product launches, and managing marketing campaigns. The role also involves coordinating successful product launches.
RelationshipsReports to the Director Field Engagement. Collaborates with sales and market access and policy/advocacy (MAPA) leadership to optimize field force execution strategies and ensure alignment with overall business goals. Leads and motivates the sales force to achieve targets and exceed performance expectations and monitor and analyse key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed. The customer engagement lead has a team of HCP managers reporting to them.
Essential Functions- Launch:
- work in tandem with the marketing launch team to develop the US commercial launch strategy, provide leadership oversight in developing and executing the overall pre-launch and launch strategic and tactical brand plans in alignment with global marketing. This includes in-depth market analysis, market research activities, customer/patient-centric innovative programming, HCP and patient marketing tactics and various market-shaping initiatives, including KOL development, advisory boards, clinical communications and medical education programs
- Field-Marketing Strategy Alignment:
- Collaborate with Sales leadership to align marketing strategies with field team objectives, ensuring effective HCP engagement and key account prioritization. Oversee promotional campaign alignment across digital and in-person channels while coordinating optimal field distribution. Gather insights from cross-functional teams on market trends and customer feedback (VOC) to enhance the field team's sales activities
- Field Enablement & Training:
- Develop and distribute Field communications to provide field guidance on promotional material to leverage with customers (e.g., detail aids, leave-behinds, battle cards). Conduct training sessions for field teams on new product launches, clinical data updates and marketing messaging
- Sample Management:
- Oversee the distribution and tracking of product samples to healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies. Collaborate with supply chain and sales teams to optimize sample inventory levels
- Campaign Execution Support:
- Ensure seamless rollout of promotional materials (branded and unbranded), marketing- led campaigns (e.g., speaker programs, peer-to-peer initiatives, digital channel engagement i.e. field deployed emails) with clear guidance for field execution setting clear expectation on campaign goals
- Event & Internal Meeting Support:
- Business and Launch Meetings: Oversee, coordinate and execute successful product launch meetings, ensuring alignment with overall brand/therapy area goals and objectives. Work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop engaging and impactful launch materials and presentations. Ensure field teams have pre- and post-event engagement tools to maximize HCP interactions
- Market Understanding and Insights:
- Apply deep market insights and understand market trends, core drivers, barriers and the competitive environment to identify growth opportunities for successful implementation of brand strategies. Coordinate closely on campaign development, competitive defense and strategic evolution of the brand. Advocate for the US marketing initiatives in the context of global marketing.
Physical RequirementsRemote option. Approximately 20-30% overnight travel.
Qualifications- Requires a Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience, including demonstrated history in a field engagement or sales/operations role within the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong experience in pharmaceutical industry/life science brand marketing strategy and planning; experience within specified therapy area
- Strong understanding of field force dynamics, product launches and sales execution strategies
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrates leadership behaviours, including authenticity, decisiveness, a growth mindset and driving focus and simplicity
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines related to sample distribution and field engagement
- Proven skills of Strategic Planning, Execution and follow-through
- People management experience required, with a proven track record of development and coaching
The base compensation range for this position is $120,300 to $222,600. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
