Full Job Description
The Senior Facilities Maintenance Manager will oversee daily maintenance and engineering operations, including refrigeration systems, while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Starting with one direct report, this role is designed to grow into a broader leadership position with increased team oversight. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with industrial refrigeration experience who is looking to develop their people management skills and build a high-performing maintenance team.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and coordinate all maintenance-related activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and company standards
  • Lead, train, and develop team members to build a strong, technically capable maintenance team
  • Provide performance feedback, assign duties, and support the growth of direct reports
  • Oversee daily facility engineering operations, including refrigeration systems
  • Manage, plan, and schedule maintenance workloads using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ensure compliance with fire, safety, environmental, and health and safety programs
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to manage budgets for labor and materials and support energy management initiatives
  • Review utility reports and implement cost-saving or efficiency improvements
  • Provide recommendations and oversight for capital expenditure and energy efficiency projects
  • Support commissioning and maintenance planning in automated facilities, including vendor coordination where applicable
  • Drive adherence to Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) requirements
  • On-Call: Must be available for emergency on-call support as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays


DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee all maintenance and facility operations with initial training and transition from the retiring incumbent
  • Ensure smooth operation of refrigeration systems and overall building functionality
  • Manage ongoing maintenance activities and respond to operational needs
  • Lead and communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders
  • Maintain documentation, reporting, and communication through systems such as CMMS and Excel


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Refrigeration Operator (RO) certification required; 4th Class Power Engineer certification preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in industrial refrigeration
  • Minimum 3 years of facility maintenance management experience (or equivalent leadership experience)
  • Experience working with ammonia, Freon, and/or CO2 refrigeration systems
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Ability to write clear, concise communications and effectively lead and motivate a team
  • Trades background (electrical, mechanical, or plumbing) or strong familiarity with multiple trades is preferred
  • Experience in automated or temperature-controlled warehouse environments is preferred
  • Ability to work in temperatures as low as -256C in cold storage or up to 376C in dry storage environments
  • Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels

The compensation package offered will depend on the candidate's ability to meet the requirements of the role and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.

Pay Range:$91,400.00 - $142,700.00
