Senior Evolved Strategic Systems (ESS) Ground Systems Integration Specialist Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Evolved Strategic Systems (ESS) Ground Systems Integration Specialist to join our team in El Segundo, CA. Due to security requirements, work is required to be on-site in a secure facility. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge SE&I for the Space Force's Space System Command. We support the Space Force's acquisition of state-of-the-art MILSATCOM systems, providing secure global, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement integration strategies and processes to successfully integrate satellite communication systems, segments (Ground, Space, Crypto, Terminals), subsystems, elements, and components; manage the technical baselines among different stakeholders - Perform analysis of the systems requirements that define the technical baseline and verification of the technical baseline - Apply Digital Engineering methods and modeling strategies (i.e. Digital twins) to support integration and test activities - Work with Government and contractor personnel to close gaps of customer requirements among the programs; support major requirements reviews, design reviews, and other associated meetings - Lead and support Government/Contractor Working Group meetings-by developing briefings, leading discussion, and writing minutes-to address/resolve risks, issues, and action items - Review proposed changes to the technical baseline for impacts to enterprise capabilities and to cross-stakeholder integration concerns - Define and deliver alternative of solutions to address different integration challenges; manage schedule impact and overall delivery of products - Facilitate review of program documents by providing comments, compiling other reviewer comments, and working with contractor to adjudicate the comments. - Serve as a subject matter expert to assess technical issues and to prepare briefings to U.S. Space Force program office personnel and other stakeholders; provide courses of actions to support Government decisions - Support management of risks, issues, interdependencies, identifying schedule disconnects and conflicts, developing action plans for resolution, and assisting the Government in executing selected solutions Work Environment: - Location: On-site - Travel Requirements: Minimal - Working Hours: Standard Qualifications: Required: - Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance - Bachelor's degree - 15+ years demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering - Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, PTS, EPS, WGS, and FAB-T terminal programs - Experience working with military and DoD civilians - Experience with ground and airborne systems, such as terminals and networks - Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) - Due to security requirements, work is required to be on-site in a secure facility Desired Skills and Experience: - TS/SCI (or eligible) clearance - BS degree in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science - MS degree in technical field (such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science) or Space Systems - Experience with mission planning, COMSEC/TRANSEC, or key management - Demonstrated strong Systems Engineering and Technical Leadership experience - Knowledge and experience in Agile Development and collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence) Compensation: The pay range for this position in California is $136,000/year to $169,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
