Senior Estimator to join our office in Henderson, NV
DESCRIPTION:As an Senior Estimator at Tutor Perini Building Corp, reporting to the Vice President Preconstruction, you will have the opportunity to:
- Coordinate with the other Estimators in the assignment of project related responsibilities from conceptual estimating to preparation of GMP's
- Quantify, analyze, and disseminate, to project estimating team, the detailed project program (work breakdown structure, room counts, functions, areas, etc.) during a project kick-off meeting
- Review, interpret, quantify, and accurately estimates cost in accordance with the project documents
- Identify and mitigate project related risk through strategic buyout and budget contingencies
- Solicit, collect and critically analyze Subcontractor/Vendor budgets, bids or quotations associated with assigned projects or packages
- Review and verify Scope of Work and pricing (Subcontractor Analysis Sheets) of other project team members when acting as the project lead estimator
- Presents the project scope of work, estimated costs, risks and opportunities to executive management during the final review of assigned estimates
- Participate in the presentation of proposals, budgets, etc. to clients and prospective clients
- Coordinate the delivery of appropriate project files for assigned projects to Operations Staff during a project turnover meeting using the Turnover Meeting Agenda and Checklist
- Participate and coordinate participation of project estimating team in the buyout process with operations
- Complete all required paperwork for bids or proposals (such as bid forms, bonding requirements, etc.)
- Provides support to Project Operations Team for Change Order estimating, extended buyout after Contract or turnover to Operations Team and other estimating support as required
- Assists in development training, coaching, and orientation of new estimators
- Visit Tutor Perini Building Corp. project sites as frequently as practical to observe construction operations at various phases and become familiar with jobsite logistics, means and methods, and Operations personnel
- Be involved in preconstruction Training Programs, becoming proficient in all aspects of preconstruction
REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering or construction management or similar from an accredited institution and 8+ years of relevant estimating, project management and / or construction experience
- 5 or more years' experience estimating for projects in buildings sector
- Previous estimating experience on projects between $50-$100M in value
- Excellent communication skills to effectively solicit and work with individual project owner's representatives, material suppliers and subcontractors in pre-bid estimate preparations and post-bid negotiations
- Capable of effectively working within a cohesive estimating team to facilitate comprehensive cost proposals and conclude efforts during team reviews on major projects
- Previous experience in alternative delivery methods such as design/build
- Experienced in estimating software tools On-Center and Timberline or similar
