Retro Environmental, a well-established Selective Demolition and Environmental Remediation company, is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our growing team at the Mechanicsburg, PA office. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and detail-oriented professional who wants to take a leadership role in our preconstruction efforts and help drive our continued growth.

The Senior Estimator will lead estimating efforts for complex selective demolition and environmental remediation projects. This role requires a seasoned professional who can manage multiple estimates simultaneously, mentor junior estimators, and work closely with executive leadership, project teams, and subcontractors. Strong analytical skills, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to interpret incomplete or ambiguous documentation are critical to success.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Owns and leads the entire estimating process form bid selection through final submission.
  • Analyzes architectural drawings, technical specifications, and scopes of work with high accuracy and insight.
  • Identifies cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering options.
  • Solicits and evaluates subcontractor and vendor quotes; builds strong relationships with trade partners.
  • Develops comprehensive project cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontract work.
  • Prepares detailed bid proposals and coordinates supporting documentation.
  • Oversees bid strategy sessions and contributes to go/no-go decisions.
  • Supports business development efforts by attending pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client engagements.
  • Trains and mentors junior estimators and support staff.
  • Collaborates with project managers post-award to ensure seamless project handoff.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive estimating experience in selective demolition and/or environmental remediation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex project estimates over $1M
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building systems, and materials.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical specifications, and geotechnical reports.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
