Full Job Description
The Low Voltage Senior Estimator leads preconstruction and estimating efforts for low voltage systems. This position develops complete, accurate, and competitive proposals; establishes estimate and bid strategies; manages risk; coordinates vendors and subcontractors; and maintains estimate quality. The Senior Estimator balances delegation with effective self-performance, directs the work of estimators assigned to each pursuit, and collaborates with operations, clients, and leadership to achieve successful outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Lead development of complete, accurate, and competitive responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  2. Review project plans, specifications, bid documents, codes, standards, schedules, and related information to define scope, identify risk, and establish the estimating approach.
  3. Identify document conflicts, omissions, scope gaps, and constructability concerns; coordinate timely clarifications and recommend practical solutions.
  4. Develop estimate plans, bid schedules, work assignments, and closeout requirements for assigned pursuits.
  5. Prepare and review quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and estimating software, including ConEst or comparable assembly-based platforms.
  6. Summarize takeoffs into definable bid units consistent with RFP requirements and company estimating standards.
  7. Develop and validate labor units, crew assumptions, productivity factors, subcontract values, material pricing, equipment costs, and indirect costs.
  8. Identify, solicit, and coordinate qualified suppliers, manufacturers, integrators, and subcontractors; level quotations for scope, exclusions, compliance, and risk.
  9. Prepare conceptual estimates, budgets, unit pricing, alternates, allowances, and detailed change-order estimates with supporting documentation.
  10. Lead estimate kickoff, progress review, risk review, and bid close meetings.
  11. Perform quality-control reviews of takeoffs, pricing, labor, quotations, scope narratives, assumptions, exclusions, and proposal documents before submission.
  12. Develop pricing, scope, procurement, and value-engineering strategies that improve competitiveness and reduce project risk.
  13. Lead the estimating process for assigned pursuits and clearly communicate scope, schedule, responsibilities, risks, and decision points.
  14. Balance delegation with effective self-performance while monitoring the quality, accuracy, and productivity of estimators assigned to the pursuit.
  15. Use independent judgment to evaluate scope of work, define estimating approaches, and develop bid strategies that support complete and competitive proposals.
  16. Assist the Estimating Services Director in maintaining cost databases, labor-productivity data, assemblies, and estimating benchmarks for low voltage systems.
  17. Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining estimating standards, templates, tools, and quality-control processes that improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
  18. Monitor changes to applicable codes, standards, technologies, and construction practices; document estimating impacts and communicate required updates.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.*
