We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Environmental Practice Leader to join our team in Redmond, WA, Seattle, WA, Tacoma, WA, Vancouver, WA, Boise, ID or Portland, OR. In this pivotal role, you will lead and expand our practice in the Pacific Northwest, driving client development, site investigation, remediation, and redevelopment projects. We are looking for a dynamic individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for business and client development, and a talent for mentoring and recruiting. Your technical proficiency will help us grow WSP's market presence. This position will play a key role in crafting and implementing new strategies, providing strategic solutions to our clients' most complex challenges. Our clients include a diverse mix of industrial, institutional, and governmental organizations.

Your Impact

In this role, you'll also have the opportunity to lead and inspire your team, taking on both project and staff management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities with both new and existing clients, and preparing related proposals.
  • Actively participating in and leading the strategic planning and implementation efforts for the Northwest region.
  • Overseeing and managing complex technical projects, utilizing your expertise to help WSP expand its practices and capabilities through industry leadership, business development, and client management.
  • Directing multiple remediation and restoration projects, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and schedule expectations while maintaining high-quality standards on deliverables.
  • Overseeing the comprehensive delivery of remediation and restoration projects, including planning, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management.
  • Building and maintaining trust-based relationships with clients, regulatory personnel, and other project stakeholders.
  • Effectively managing and nurturing client relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Mentoring staff in technical, consulting, and business development skills.
  • Leading and supporting recruitment efforts for key staff hires to grow our practice in the Northwest.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrology, or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or a related field
  • At least 12 years of post-education environmental consulting experience
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in managing complex projects and teams
  • Experience managing the overall delivery of projects, including project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management
  • Detailed understanding of soil and groundwater remediation regulations
  • Detailed understanding of Washington and Oregon regulations
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Ability and willingness to travel within region and occasionally outside region
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in the same fields
  • Washington, Oregon, and/or Idaho professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G.), or ability and willingness to obtain
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers

  • Compensation:
  • Expected Salary (all locations): $133,200 - $171,000
  • WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
