Full Job Description
Position: Senior Environmental Engineer

Employment for this position is contingent upon successful contract award, project funding, and client approval.

The selected individual will lead and support the preparation, coordination, and documentation of NEPA analyses, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, State of Texas, and Department of Energy (DOE) regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

NEPA Compliance & Documentation
• Lead coordination and preparation of NEPA environmental reviews for site projects, including Environmental Assessments (EAs), Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), floodplain assessments, and supplemental analyses
• Support development and documentation of categorical exclusions (CXs), NEPA checklists, and environmental review determinations
• Ensure NEPA documentation meets DOE and regulatory requirements for accuracy, completeness, and defensibility

Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, project managers, and internal/external stakeholders to support environmental compliance objectives
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (engineering, scientific, operations, and technical staff) to align project execution with regulatory requirements
• Interface with regulatory agencies, DOE representatives, and other stakeholders as needed

Records Management & Technical Communication
• Maintain and manage administrative records in compliance with NEPA, DOE, and environmental regulatory requirements
• Provide technical writing, review, and editing to ensure complex technical information is clearly conveyed to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Support preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation using Microsoft Office tools

Qualifications

Education & Experience
• Bachelor of Science degree in an environmental, science, or engineering-related discipline and a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant environmental experience;
OR
• Master's degree in an environmental, science, or engineering-related discipline with at least five (5) years of relevant experience

Required Skills & Experience
• Substantial experience in NEPA compliance and environmental review documentation
• Strong knowledge of federal, State of Texas, and DOE environmental regulations, including environmental impact review and compliance requirements
• Experience supporting environmental compliance in industrial, construction, or federally regulated environments
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute NEPA-related activities with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with stakeholders such as project teams, regulatory agencies, DOE oversight, and leadership
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative while working under general direction

Additional Requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

Pay Range

USD $97,379.10 - USD $175,213.50 /Yr.
