Full Job Description
In this role you will manage water and wastewater treatment planning, design, and services during construction for a wide variety of water related projects within our Northern California operation. You will be responsible for developing detailed engineering plans and specifications for water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and conveyance systems. You will also be responsible for leading small design and technical teams. Developing Client relationships and working with Clients to better serve their needs is also an expectation for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform technical analyses and evaluate sustainable environmental engineering solutions.

  • Prepare, review, and finalize technical reports, calculations, and design documentation.

  • Design environmental protection systems and infrastructure in accordance with regulatory and project requirement

  • Develop facility, watershed, or resource management plans with defined scopes and objectives.
    Analyze complex data sets and ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance of deliverables.

  • Provide technical support for permitting, regulatory approvals, and coordination with vendors and stakeholders

  • Support project execution through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.


Preferred Requirements

  • Analyze and recommend improvements to water and wastewater treatment processes
  • Perform treatment plant process modeling
  • Perform plant and system hydraulic evaluations
  • Support the development of strategies for the water and wastewater market sector in Northern California.
  • Lead planning efforts in water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping, storage and conveyance
  • Delegate, sequence and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers performing designs of water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, pump stations, tanks, reservoirs, or conveyance systems.
  • Assist with and lead business development efforts including positioning, pursuits, and Client management services.
  • Support BC's quality control and quality assurance process
  • Lead client and internal meetings to advance project work as an effective communicator
  • Prepare written reports and technical memorandums to document analyses and recommendations.
  • Participate in office work groups and organizations to benefit the company's knowledge of issues and to understand client needs.


Mentorship

  • May provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles.


Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient knowledge of environmental engineering principles, methods, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to manage assigned tasks independently and meet project deadlines.

  • Clear and effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.


Experience

  • Typically, a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in Environmental Engineering or related field.

  • Experience in preparation of plans and permit applications for environmental projects.

  • Prior experience in guidance and development of less experienced colleagues.

  • Typically certified in the SMS Framework, and progressing through the SMS competencies.


Preferred Experience

  • BS. or B.S. degree in civil or environmental engineering with a minimum of 6 years of related experience in the water and wastewater treatment and conveyance field. Engineers with other degrees such as Chemical or Mechanical may be considered if they have strong experience in municipal or industrial water treatment facility planning and design.
  • EIT is required and ability to obtain a P.E in the state of California within the next 6 months is preferred
  • Experience leading or supporting competitive sales efforts with municipal clients is required.
  • Experience managing and delivering water and wastewater treatment and conveyance related planning and design projects in the role as a project manager is required.
  • Strong written communication skills and experience producing technical reports.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.


Education

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field is required.

  • Has achieved or is working towards achieving professional license.


Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location C: $114,000 - $155,000
