Full Job Description
Job Purpose

Develop the Honda Aircraft Quality Management System (QMS) including identification/resolution of business practice
concerns, assuring compliance to AS9100, and assuring compliance to government requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • As a company-wide function, develop, maintain, and assure adherence to the Honda Aircraft Quality Management Policy (QMP) through leadership of the Quality Standardization committee.
    • Identify and resolve issues to improve business practices involving QMS compliance by leading working groups with QMS representatives and subject matter experts.
      • Integrate requirements for improvements from internal sources such as AS9100 compliance audits, risk assessments, and regular PDCA, as well as external sources such as normal warranty issues, ADs, government audits and HM audits.
      • Strategically lead the development of solutions through guided expert recommendations to business unit QMS representatives while building horizontal consensus across the company.
    • Build consensus with all levels of management in the Honda Aircraft business units to determine how to change business operations to improve quality. Be a resource to business units and divisions on concerns related to QMS strategy, procedures, audits, training, and other items as needed.
    • Apply the Global Honda Quality Standards (GHQS) to the aviation business.
    • Develop clear QMS supplements, standards and procedures.
  • Compliance with AS9100
    • Lead auditor for AS9100 internal audits and support external audits.
    • Negotiate with auditors on technical merits of C/M ideas.
    • Create analysis reports.
    • Lead and direct other departments to investigate/resolve non-conformities.
    • Review and confirm effective countermeasures for audit results.
  • QMS System Owner / Administration
    • Manage incorporation of QMS into electronic systems for document control and training records and procure resources as needed to ensure sustainability and continuous improvements.
    • Administer and maintain systems required to manage the QMS, audit plans, non-conformities, training, and records.
    • Plan and implement improvements with suppliers and Honda IT.
  • Compliance with Government Regulation
    • Collaborate with Chief Inspecting Engineer (CIE's) to implement control plans and prepare for external audits.
    • Develop countermeasures to findings using Honda problem solving methods.


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree; or equivalent and strongly-related experience
  • Minimum Experience
    • 8+ years of related experience
    • 2 years of experience at a Honda company
  • Other Job-Specific Skills
    • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO9001/AS9100) or Regulatory Quality Systems
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
