Description

Join the Town of Prescott Valley Public Works Department as our Senior Engineer and help shape the infrastructure that supports a growing and dynamic community. In this key role, you'll help drive the Town's capital improvement program by identifying future infrastructure needs, developing and delivering complex projects, solving real-world engineering challenges, and ensuring high standards from design through construction.

Examples of Duties
IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL:

  • Perform high level review and analysis of Town infrastructure needs.
  • Assist the Public Works Director in developing long-range CIP projects. Developing scope of work, project cost and preferred delivery methods. Tracks progress of all active CIP projects and provides regular updates to the Director.
  • Ensure compliance with proper civil engineering design standards and specifications, inspection practices, safe working standards and practices.
  • Coach assigned team by providing regular guidance and feedback while seeking out ways and training to assist in elevating staff knowledge.
  • Oversee project management and construction management either directly or through consultants.
  • Assist field operations by developing small designs to address field issues.
  • Perform design review of plans and technical reports for CIP Projects for conformance with proper civil engineering standards and to Town standards.

Typical Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering,environmental engineering or closely related engineering field, with
  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, inclusive of two (2) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including driving record.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer required.
  • Advanced engineering knowledge and judgement regarding transportation, water, wastewater, environmental services, municipal facilities and other civil engineering infrastructure concepts, issues, and requirements.

  • The expected hiring range is $116,330 - $131,300
  • The full salary range is $116,330 - $174,495
