Description

Key Responsibilities:

We're looking for a Senior Engineer - New Aircraft Quality to join our team. In this role, you'll ensure seamless integration and peak performance of new aircraft entering United's fleet. You'll lead reliability reviews, track new delivery performance, and collaborate with OEM and factory quality teams to drive continuous improvement in production and operational readiness.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead monthly and quarterly reliability reviews for new aircraft entering service
  • Track delivery performance through detailed analysis of cancellations, out-of-service incidents, and Operational Reliability Index (ORI) events
  • Analyze pilot reports, component removals, Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs), and event forms across rolling 90-day periods
  • Collaborate with Fleet Management and OEM quality teams to identify and address production issues
  • Review production revision records and aircraft acceptance criteria to ensure compliance and quality
  • Drive closed-loop feedback with OEMs through direct factory interface and quality trend analysis
  • Conduct structured problem-solving for aircraft design, maintenance, performance, and repair issues
  • Define maintenance programs and serviceability criteria that ensure safety and compliance
  • Evaluate modifications and new equipment for reliability, cost, and performance impact
  • Lead complex projects from concept through implementation, including FAA coordination and cost-benefit analysis
  • Provide on-site technical support for line and base maintenance operations
  • Partner across internal teams to maintain airworthiness, safety, and operational efficiency


Location & Schedule: This role is based at the CSC - Willis Tower in Chicago, IL, and follows a hybrid work schedule with three days per week in-office (subject to change)

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace) or related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years of relevant engineering experience within aviation or related industry
  • Strong ability to interpret complex engineering and OEM documentation
  • Proven project management experience, especially in regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of airline or OEM operations
  • Understanding of CFRs, airworthiness criteria, and aircraft/equipment design principles
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Reliable attendance and successful completion of interview process
