Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Design Release Engineer to join our Powertrain Engineering team having automatic transmission and driveline design and release specialist for gearbox torque transfer components (gears and splines). The candidate is responsible for specifying and maintaining performance & mechanical component requirements for automatic transmission gears and splines and will work in the COE (council of excellence) for torque transfer systems for automatic transmissions and emachine gear reducer powerflows.

The candidate will also provide technical support and leadership within the transmission and driveline product release center engineering team for propulsion system components. This role demands an in-depth expertise in propulsion system and driveline torque transfer components and must be a technical expert in gear and spline design for automatic transmission, manual transmissions and driveline systems. The responsibilities will also include design and release of key components using Stellantis product development processes and systems.

Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field
  • 10 years of relevant experience and a minimum of 8 years of experience in propulsion systems, automatic transmissions or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years design and release of gears and splines
  • Strong analytical virtual analysis technical background
  • Working level experience with suppliers of automatic transmission and EDM gear reducer components
  • Advanced degree in with emphasis in mechanical engineering or similar
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt DFSS certification
  • Strong interpersonal communication and team leadership skills and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership teams


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering
