About the Opportunity

WOLF Advanced Technology is looking for a full-time Senior Engineer, Design Verification & Test based in Aurora, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director of Technology - Safety Certifiable Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the functionality, performance, and reliability of advanced airborne electronics and embedded software through rigorous verification and validation practices.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for leading manual/automated test platform development and managing verification activities to ensure compliance with aerospace certification standards.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the design and implementation of manual/automated test systems including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) setups
  • Managing the full lifecycle of automated testing infrastructure from concept through execution
  • Overseeing prototype bring-up, debugging, and environmental testing of embedded systems
  • Ensuring compliance with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, and MIL-STD-810 through detailed documentation and test planning
  • Mentoring junior test engineers and contributing to design-for-test and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Driving traceability across hardware/software requirements, test procedures, and outcomes
  • Diagnosing complex design and integration issues and implementing effective testing solutions
  • Collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to define and fulfill test requirements

About You

To qualify, you will need a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience), along with 7+ years of experience in verification and testing of embedded hardware/software within the aerospace or defence industry.

A strong background in developing manual/automated test systems and executing verification plans for high-performance airborne electronics is essential. Experience with certification standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, and DO-160 will be critical, as will your ability to maintain traceability across requirements and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, software, and systems engineering.

Eligibility Requirements

WOLF is a military and aerospace manufacturer requiring strict adherence to CGP and ITAR requirements. As a condition of employment, applicants must be able to provide valid documentation to show Canadian or US citizenship or Canadian Permanent Residency and undergo a police check with no criminal background.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Demonstrated experience designing and managing automated test equipment (ATE), including HIL and SIL setups
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace and defence regulatory standards, including DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, and MIL-STD-810
  • Proficiency with scripting languages and test frameworks such as Python, LabVIEW, C#, Tcl, and Perl
  • Experience with test and measurement tools, such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and environmental test chambers
  • Familiarity with embedded communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, Ethernet (TCP/IP, TSN), and RTOS (asset)
  • Ability to develop and maintain test plans, traceability matrices, and verification documentation aligned with certification requirements (asset)
  • Understanding of video standards (e.g., DisplayPort, HDMI, SDI formats) and GPU/firmware integration (asset)
  • Prior experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to design-for-test and debug best practices (asset)
