Job Description

General Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include project and personnel management, reporting, analysis and field testing for deep foundation testing projects, including high-strain dynamic load testing using PDA (PDA), cross-hole sonic logging (CSL), thermal integrity profiling (TIP), pile integrity testing (PIT), and static load testing. Develop proposals and manage assigned deep foundation testing projects and clients. Projects may span transportation, commercial, public works, communications, energy and industrial sectors.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrating safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
  • Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
  • Lead technical training and make informed decisions based upon state of the art technology issues.
  • Supervise less experienced Deep Foundation Testing Engineers or technical support personnel on projects.
  • Work as a licensed Professional Engineer and responsibilities this entails along with a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
  • Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
  • Manage Deep Foundations Projects
  • Prepare cost estimates, and other project related documents.
  • Conduct, coordinate or supervise field testing and data analysis.
  • Perform high-strain dynamic testing of driven piles and drilled shafts using a Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) and CAPWAP software.
  • Perform wave equation analyses using GRLWEAP software.
  • Conduct Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL), Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP) and Low-Strain Integrity Testing (PIT) of drilled shafts and similar foundations.
  • Conduct conventional static load testing of deep foundation systems.
  • Interacts with clients and internal teams to develop scopes of services and communicate project progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or other related field (required).
  • PDCA PDA certificate intermediate level or higher (required).
  • 10-15 years' experience (preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification (required).
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Experience in deep foundations testing (required).
