Job Description:

This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations, and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally, this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery.

This role is responsible for defining an architectural vision and architecture for large, complex solutions, which align with the enterprise architecture strategy, technology and platform choices for the defined domain (Business, Application, Data and Technology). Key responsibilities include describing the solution intent/associated operating environment, evaluating system impacts and determining the primary systems/subsystems and their interfaces, assisting with end-to-end solution design where needed, defining non-functional requirements/architectural runway to support new epics/features and expand into new opportunities. This role ensures the solution is fit for purpose and use by working with stakeholders, vendors/service providers, and evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions. They also contribute to best practices, standard templates, and the architecture roadmap for defined domains

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution
  • Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)
  • Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline
  • Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance -e.g. pairing, code reviews
  • Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level
  • Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features
  • Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements
  • Applies strong analytical thinking to solve complex problems, anticipate future challenges, and identify new opportunities. Promotes collaboration across business and technology, strengthening team effectiveness. Influences decisions by building strong stakeholder partnerships and leveraging domain expertise. Ensures sustainable results by defining KPIs and making strategic technology decisions that drive measurable business value.
  • Drives adoption and continuous improvement of the solution delivery process across teams. Defines governance models, aligns stakeholders to strategic objectives, and ensures accountability. Brings strong business product knowledge and integrates efficiency initiatives into technology solutions. Proactively identifies hidden risks and dependencies, establishing controls to mitigate impact.
  • Manages financials and resources by tracking variances to ensure alignment with value stream objectives. Leads program and portfolio planning, facilitating backlog prioritization while managing risks, dependencies, and impediments across Agile and waterfall frameworks.

  • DevOps and Release Automation - Designs, develops and rolls out best practices for CI/CD processes and tools. Identifies gaps and enables teams to adopt DevOps culture for continuous value delivery.
  • Application Data Architecture - Designs architectures for an area or division. Builds the business-technology relationship through aligning business goals and strategy with technology implementation.
