Description

Overview:

In this role, you will provide development support, conceptual design and owner’s engineer services to clients including performing technical evaluations of electric power generation projects and facilities.

The role will also provide an opportunity to understand and develop solutions to meet Project Management needs and Client requirements for the successful execution of consulting projects. Using a variety of industry and proprietary software tools, and under the direction of project leadership, you will perform the following tasks:

  • Engineering design reviews
  • Technical due diligence
  • Project development support
  • Conceptual design (experience in mechanical design of thermal power projects is desired, but not required.)
  • Support project economic and cost analysis, risk assessments, and contract development.
  • Coordinate with project management to organize, report and present project financials, schedule status, risks and mitigation plans, contract backlogs, project status, and staffing plans.
  • Provide high-level coordination, administrative and analytical support to the project team.
  • Attend project meetings (internal and with the client) at the Project Manager27s discretion.
  • Assist with scheduling deadlines and maintaining project deliverables schedules for multiple projects.

This position requires someone who has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. Acceptable disciplines include electrical, mechanical, civil, and chemical. A Master27s degree in a business (e.g., MBA) or engineering discipline is a plus.

Essential skills and experience:

  • 7 or more years of experience in independent engineering experience for power projects and/or experience in development of power projects;
  • Experience with multiple power generation technologies (i.e., thermal, renewables, etc.);
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge in MS Office tools, with emphasis on the advanced use of MS Excel in creating and maintaining detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels
  • Experience in project finance or financial modeling of power projects is a plus;
  • Experience with owner27s engineering activities during power project execution is a plus.

  • We also value additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that enables effective oversight of automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows.
Compensation Range$95,840.00 - $147,870.00 Transparency StatementSargent & Lundy discloses compensation ranges that comply with all local and state regulations. The total compensation package for eligible positions will include a base salary or an hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package, reflecting our commitment to rewarding performance and supporting the overall well-being of our employees. Individuals may also be eligible to participate in our yearly discretionary bonus.
