Lead and participate in the planning and execution of embedded firmware development for lighting controls, advanced protection and connected wiring devices. Design, develop, integrate, and test firmware for resource-constrained microcontrollers used in wiring devices.
Job Duties:- Execute the design, development, debugging, and hardware/software integration of embedded firmware solutions for new and existing electrical wiring devices according to product specifications.
- Actively participate in hardware design by working across firmware and electronics domains, including schematic interpretation, hardware/firmware partitioning, board bring-up, and root-cause debugging of mixed hardware/software issues to ensure optimal wiring-device design.
- Implement firmware for wiring-device applications, i.e. switches, dimmers, switched receptacles, GFCI's, AFCI's, etc, that interface to low-rate wireless networks (IEEE 802.15.4).
- Knowledge and experience with integrated tools to plan, develop, test, and deploy software as part of a single workflow. Azure DevOps experience preferred.
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies for embedded firmware and hardware systems, including test plan creation, automated and manual test execution, debugging, and root-cause analysis to verify functionality, reliability, and regulatory compliance across the product lifecycle.
- Work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives by actively communicating, sharing knowledge, and supporting team members to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
