Full Job Description
The product team is looking for a senior electronics mechanical designer to create the next generation of space electronic enclosures. You will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge, experience, and creativity to develop novel solutions, introduce new materials, validate mission requirements and manufacture cutting edge technology that is ready for space. You will also be the subject matter expert that will identify and resolve design problems before they become reality. This role will interface with product, manufacturing and business development teams and will have the opportunity to impact company objectives.

Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Develop mechanical enclosures for electronic products
  • Create, run and evaluate structural, thermal and vibration analysis on electronic enclosures
  • Support electronics development and trade studies
  • Create interface definition, specification, technical drawings and control documents
  • Validate requirements through design, test, analysis, or inspection
  • Plan and conduct tests, review and interpret data
  • Provide technical guidance for hardware installation.
  • Oversee BOM structures, product configurations, and hardware release workflows.


Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 7+ years of experience with the structural analysis
  • Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS preferred)
  • Excellent understanding of structural analysis/mechanics
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs
  • Experience with GD&T implementation and analysis (ASME Y14.5)
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time
  • Ability to communicate analysis results effectively
  • Experience with ruggedized electronics enclosures or similar high performance hardware


Skills and Experience
  • Experience with tools CAD and analysis tools.
  • Experience with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standard structural analysis methods.
  • Familiarity with electronics packaging concepts.
