Responsibilities
Technical Design & Engineering Leadership
- Lead the design of power distribution systems, lighting layouts, and grounding systems for semiconductor and high-tech manufacturing facilities, ensuring designs meet project scope, schedule, and quality benchmarks.
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and arc flash studies using EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM PowerTools, ensuring system reliability, safety compliance, and operational uptime for critical manufacturing environments.
- Direct the development of electrical construction documents, including one-line diagrams, panel schedules, conduit routing plans, and equipment specifications, driving clarity and completeness to reduce field RFIs and design rework.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, serving as the team's primary technical reference for code interpretation and design intent.
- Drive the integration of electrical systems with mechanical, process, and structural disciplines through coordinated BIM modeling and cross-functional design reviews.
- Evaluate electrical system designs for energy efficiency and operational performance, recommending optimization strategies that reduce lifecycle costs for clients.
- Apply field verification and troubleshooting expertise to resolve design discrepancies early, minimizing costly changes during construction.
Project Coordination & Quality Assurance
- Coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, and procurement teams to align electrical design deliverables with project milestones, budgets, and client expectations.
- Conduct and lead internal design reviews and quality checks, ensuring all electrical deliverables meet SSOE standards and client specifications before release.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, design reports, and technical submittals with accuracy and attention to detail.
Client Interface & Construction Support
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients during design development, presenting solutions with confidence and translating complex engineering concepts into actionable decisions.
- Collaborate with contractors by issuing RFI responses, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits to verify installation compliance with design intent.
Team Development & Mentorship
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance, reviewing their work, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence within the team.
- Contribute to SSOE's knowledge-sharing culture by leading lessons-learned reviews, participating in division-wide technical discussions, and helping build reusable design standards and templates.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes and standards: NEC, IBC, IFC, and NFPA.
- Field verification and experience to identify and resolve design-to-field discrepancies during construction.
- Comfortable presenting technical content, managing expectations, and building long-term relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM PowerTools for power system analysis and arc flash studies.
- Prior experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or advanced high-tech facility design.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentorship track record — having guided junior engineers, led design reviews, or contributed to team development initiatives.
