Full Job Description
ROLE: Sr. Electrical Engineer

The incumbent reports to the WI Engineering Manager of FP&P and is responsible for Electrical Engineering activities at the Whiting facility in addition to Whiting Engineering Department Lead activities. Provides technical direction, guidance and council to execute plant and equipment projects in accordance with the desired cost, quality and performance objectives. Additionally, the role provides Whiting engineering department day to day guidance and leadership supporting the WI Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

Support and maintain all equipment and buildings at the Whiting facility.

  • Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and guidance in DCS and process control systems. Manage DCS and QCS systems to include all hardware, sensors, software and operator stations.
  • Implements control strategies to improve quality and mill performance.
  • Provide documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information.


Capital Project Execution

  • Development and execute capital projects to support strategic initiatives, reduce costs, and sustain and improve operations from a safety, reliability and environmental standpoint
  • Execute capital projects ensuring successful achieve facility objectives
  • Abide by the spirit of all identified industry safety guidelines, mandates, regulations, and laws.
  • Influence project execution and activity to support spending targets.
  • Manage 3rd party engineering as utilized to expedite project initiatives.


Facility Support

  • Assist in the development and management of the 5-year capital plan for the Whiting facility.
  • Plan and execute annual shutdowns within the budget for the shutdown.
  • Support the development of the technical skills of the E&I group
  • Support the development of the technical skills of the Engineering group


Costs

  • Support the development and implementation of cost improvement plans and programs that ensure a profitable manufacturing facility.
  • Provide engineering support to assist in the maximization of asset TPD, Yield, Uptime, and COM targets.
  • Include energy and cost effectiveness into the design into all equipment additions and modifications.
