Full Job Description
This role requires a highly experienced technical leader who thrives in complex, multidisciplinary environments and is motivated by solving challenging, system-level problems. The Senior Electrical Engineer will shape advanced technologies, influence architecture and design decisions, and provide technical leadership across teams while mentoring engineers and driving disciplined execution throughout the product lifecycle. This is a hybrid role in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect mixed-signal systems, owning end-to-end FPGA design, implementation, and integration.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting strong engineering practices, technical rigor, and effective project execution.
  • Own technical workstreams and manage sub-projects, ensuring alignment with overall program objectives, milestones, and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate feasibility, maturity, and risk of advanced technologies, conducting hands-on experiments and defining verification, validation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a technical liaison across engineering disciplines, leading advanced problem-solving efforts for complex system-level challenges.
  • Design RF amplifiers and matching networks for electrosurgical applications.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and software teams to optimize RF system performance, robustness, and system level integration.
  • Drive sustaining engineering activities and continuous improvement initiatives across the full product lifecycle.
  • Lead and enforce Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) best practices for complex development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with EMC, EMI, and patient safety standards, including IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, and IEC 60601-2-2.


Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or highly related field)
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years' engineering work experience with demonstrated ownership of technically complex designs or systems OR Master's degree with 6+ years' engineering work experience with demonstrated ownership of technically complex designs or systems


Other Attributes:
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals, including analog, digital, and mixed-signal design
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCBA Layout
  • Knowledge design for manufacturability, including PCB fabrication, assembly, and component selection
  • Hands-on experience with electrical lab equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and related tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • ASIC/SoC digital design experience
  • RTL design (Verilog/VHDL/SystemVerilog) experience
  • Design verification engineering experience
  • 2+ years experience with FPGA design and/or implementation, including system integration
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Experience with HDL languages, such as Verilog and/or VHDL
  • Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
  • Knowledge of magnetics design, including transformers and inductors
  • Working knowledge of statistics
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer
  • Familiarity with Windchill
  • Familiarity with MATLAB
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams


0-20% Travel

Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is $104,134- $163,640. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
