Senior Electrical Engineer for our
Property & Buildings Team in
Chicago, Illinois. This role provides the opportunity to support the design and delivery of electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of commercial, healthcare, higher education, civic, residential, and mixed-use projects.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer who enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to innovative, sustainable building solutions.
Your Impact- Perform electrical engineering design and analysis for building systems projects.
- Develop construction documents, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Design power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Coordinate designs with architects, owners, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Support project managers in meeting project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.
- Utilize Revit and BIM tools to develop and coordinate project designs.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and existing condition assessments.
- Assist with construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and supporting project closeout.
- Review work for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Support technical excellence initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Who You AreRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
- 5-7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in the design of building systems.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure in the near term.
- Working knowledge of:
- National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Building and energy codes
- Electrical distribution systems
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Emergency and standby power systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Experience using:
- Revit
- AutoCAD
- SKM, ETAP, or similar analysis software
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience in healthcare, higher education, commercial, laboratory, or civic facilities.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building systems.
- LEED AP, WELL AP, or similar credential.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams.
- Familiarity with construction administration and field observation activities.

Compensation:
Expected Salary: $100,800 - $147,000
