Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will support major nuclear projects including the DNNP SMR program, providing technical expertise in electrical power systems engineering.

Your role
  • Prepare and review technical documents including drawings (single line, wiring, cable schedules), calculations, specifications, and reports.
  • Perform electrical system studies including load calculations, equipment sizing, and system analysis.
  • Design and specify electrical equipment such as transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, diesel generators, and power distribution systems.
  • Perform electrical engineering work in compliance with QA programs, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and independently execute engineering assignments, including electrical design using industry software.
  • Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, and prepare/review deliverables such as calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and support procurement activities (e.g., EQRs, vendor document reviews).
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, lead defined work scopes, and participate in design reviews, planning, and technical meetings.
  • Support project execution through site visits, construction/commissioning assistance, issue resolution, and ensure quality, schedule, and budget targets are met.


About you
  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligible.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering and power systems within nuclear or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience with medium and low voltage power distribution systems and electrical design deliverables.
  • Experience in equipment sizing including transformers, cables, and breakers.
  • Experience using electrical analysis tools such as ETAP or similar.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards such as CSA, Canadian Electrical Code, and nuclear QA programs.
  • Experience in nuclear power plant projects (new build, refurbishment, or modifications) would be an asset
