The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Electrical Engineer (Senior) to support the Army Reprogramming Analysis Team (ARAT) program at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. In support of Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM), you will join an integrated, high-performing engineering team dedicated to maintaining absolute spectrum superiority and defeating worldwide electronic warfare (EW) and signals threats. Operating within ARAT’s Terrestrial Electromagnetic Warfare (TEW) Branch, you will serve as a senior technical lead responsible for planning, designing, evaluating, and integrating advanced EW capabilities. You will collaborate directly with the Branch Chief, Team lead and external stakeholders to translate warfighter requirements into high-performance technical specifications, ensuring our forces remain dominant in increasingly contested electromagnetic operational environments.
Responsibilities:
- Support ARAT’s Terrestrial Electromagnetic Warfare (TEW) Branch in testing and integrating advanced ARAT software tools, algorithms, and processes with emerging EW platforms and tactical capabilities (e.g., TLS-BCT Manpack, EWTA, and related SDR systems).
- Conduct robust unit, subsystem, and end-to-end system testing in lab, simulated, and field environments.
- Read, interpret, and troubleshoot complex electrical and data schematic diagrams to maintain or repair test setups, hardware racks, and specialized tactical equipment.
- Provide technical recommendations regarding lifecycle maintenance, system modernization, and hardware/software resiliency in support of ongoing projects and field innovations.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, design packages, test plans, and technical recommendations supporting next-generation EW initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Security Clearance: Must hold an active Secret security clearance with verified eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or an ABET-accredited engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive engineering experience in RF engineering, hardware design, or electronic warfare systems within Department of Defense (DoD), military, or commercial aerospace/defense programs.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures, or closely related RF engineering disciplines.
- Strong "hands-on" proficiency with specialized RF and general laboratory test equipment, including but not limited to: Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Digital Multimeters, Network Analyzers, and Signal Generators.
- Professional ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using complex electronic schematics and engineering diagrams.
- Proven ability to coordinate complex engineering activities across multiple stakeholders while supporting project schedules and operational requirements with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts
Desired:
- Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance.
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or RF Engineering with 6+ years of specialized military or industrial experience.
- Hands-on maintenance and operational experience with Tactical SDR systems and signal generation systems (Keysight UXG products).
- Foundational knowledge of basic RADAR operating theories and electronic warfare concepts (ES/EA/EP).
- Direct experience analyzing RF transmit and receive hardware.
- Direct exposure to, or experience with, antenna propagation modeling software and electromagnetic simulation.
- Practical networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, network configuration) as applied to distributed tactical systems.
- Familiarity with engineering design and diagramming tools, specifically Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD etc.
