The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. EOIS develops, manufactures, and supports infrared and electro-optical solutions for soldiers, ground vehicles and airborne platforms. Job Responsibilities

  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Hazard and Risk Assessment: Identify potential environmental, health, and safety hazards in the workplace and conduct risk assessments to evaluate and mitigate these risks. Coordinate the hazardous waste removal and handling procedures. Assist in the administration with customer inquiries on shipping, handling, and disposal of chemicals. Prepare Safety Data Sheet (SDS), master labels and other documentation as needed.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees and management on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance safety awareness and assist in generating literature for orders, SDS, etc.
  • Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance, and prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities.
  • Environmental Management: Oversee environmental initiatives, such as waste management removal and handling prodedures, and pollution prevention, to minimize the organization's environmental impact.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct safety drills to prepare for potential incidents.
