IAV is currently seeking a highly motivated
Senior EDS Components Design Engineer(Electrical Distribution Systems) to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of critical EDS components supporting next-generation electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering innovative, high-quality electrical solutions from concept through production while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Essential Responsibilities & Activities:- Responsible for the end-to-end design and development of EDS components, including shields, troughs, grommets, connectors, terminals, and power distribution components
- Own component delivery from initial concept through virtual development, validation, and production launch.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to define technical requirements and support sourcing and quoting activities.
- Partner with internal module owners and suppliers to define, release, and integrate EDS components into vehicle platforms.
- Develop and maintain a standardized library of EDS components aligned with global engineering teams
- Perform and support virtual, physical, and field validation testing to ensure product performance and durability.
- Ensure designs comply with all applicable safety standards and U.S. regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance system performance and customer experience.
- Support manufacturing readiness, including input into production processes and facility design.
- Manage supplier deliverables to meet cost, quality, and timing targets.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in wire harness and/or power distribution component design and release within the automotive industry.
- Proven experience supporting full product development lifecycle (concept, design, validation, and launch).
- Strong expertise in EDS component design (connectors, terminals, harness protection, and power distribution systems).
- Solid problem-solving and engineering skills, with experience applying structured methods (e.g., Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with CAE tools or hands-on experience with simulation and analysis.
- Working knowledge of validation and testing processes for automotive components.
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional and global teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency with verbal and written communication skills, analytical problem solving, and creativity.
- Willingness to travel, as needed
