Full Job Description
Overview

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within the Corporate Networking team, driving the development and optimization of networking solutions across both our cloud infrastructure (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS) and physical corporate network environments. In this role, you will lead innovative network designs, act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across cloud and on-premises technologies, and provide mentorship to team members - ensuring technical excellence, security, and collaboration.

What You'll Do
• Design and implement scalable, highly available network architectures across public cloud platforms (Azure and AWS) and physical corporate infrastructure, including data centers, campus, and branch environments.
• Enhance the security posture of multi-cloud environments with advanced networking solutions - segmentation, encryption, and policy enforcement.
• Collaborate with security operations and architecture teams to identify and remediate network security gaps.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement seamless integrations across PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS environments.
• Mentor and support team members, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth within the Corporate Networking team.
• Monitor and manage Avid's multi-cloud networking environments; lead incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
• Lead enterprise networking efforts for routing/peering connectivity, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers, switches, and all other critical cloud and physical infrastructure components.
• Evaluate and integrate cloud-native networking solutions such as service meshes and private links.
• Support Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) initiatives, promoting cloud adoption and organizational alignment.
• Develop comprehensive documentation for cloud networking services, M&A integrations, and migration projects.
• Implement networking best practices to optimize cloud platforms, achieving cost savings and operational efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with SOX and PCI standards, including evidence creation and audit readiness.
• Research and introduce emerging cloud networking technologies to simplify and modernize the network footprint.
• Provide architectural and engineering expertise across business units, in close collaboration with security and technical teams.
• Act as the escalation point for complex networking and security issues, ensuring seamless resolution and team alignment.
• Drive automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) to reduce manual workloads and enhance scalability.
• Lead tech debt reduction initiatives, adopting best practices and optimizing existing infrastructure.
• Manage and maintain load balancing platforms, ensuring efficient traffic distribution and uptime.
• Support cloud and on-premises disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, ensuring minimal downtime and operational resilience.
• Monitor networking metrics and KPIs, promoting operational excellence and accountability.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support, ensuring uninterrupted operations.
• Design, deploy, and maintain physical network infrastructure including switches, routers, wireless systems, and structured cabling across corporate offices and data centers.
• Collaborate with facilities and IT teams to plan and execute office build-outs, expansions, and hardware refreshes of physical network infrastructure.

What We're Looking For
• 5-7 years of proven expertise in network engineering, spanning both cloud (Azure, AWS, or similar) and physical corporate infrastructure design and operations.
• Strong background in designing and implementing secure, scalable, high-performing network solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with SD-WAN, cloud firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and load balancer solutions.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, VPN, and network monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as Zero Trust, NIST, or CIS benchmarks.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality results.
• Proven experience mentoring team members and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to technical challenges.
• Excellent project management and communication skills, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
• Dependable, motivated, and adaptable - able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms.

Nice to Have
