The Role

This role will support the expansion of voluntary insurance consulting capabilities across the Western and Central regions of the United States for our middle market size segment. Serving as a subject matter expert, the position will lead efforts related to new business development, go-to-market strategy, voluntary benefits product consulting, service design, and ongoing client relationship management for WTW clients.

The role is responsible for executing a growth and sales strategy that drives market penetration and revenue growth, while continuously refining the voluntary benefits product and service offering to meet evolving client needs.

Key responsibilities include designing and building voluntary benefit strategies to support scalable client delivery, developing training programs and resources for Health & Benefits consultants, fostering cross-line-of-business collaboration, and coordinating with external carrier and vendor partners. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing WTW's voluntary benefits strategy and ensuring the delivery of high-quality client solutions.

Clients
  • Lead and manage multiple client engagements
  • Drive Voluntary Benefits insurance consulting sales and marking efforts for both regions
  • Lead the development of optimum project and expansion solutions for the client
  • Create client specific business plans to ensure growth, retention and expansion goals are met
  • Serve as an escalation point for client and operational issues and drive solutions

  • Coordinate with VB Operations team to ensure service levels meet or exceed client expectations and professional excellence standards
  • Ensure quality of deliverables and enforcement of critical deadlines through effective communication


Financial
  • Negotiate with client/carrier for the efficient delivery of services as profitable fee or commission levels
  • Maintain and manage client profitability


People
  • Mentor and provides feedback internally to other team members
  • Facilitate communication between client and service teams
  • Build relationships with internal and external resources
  • Participate in annual performance management process


The Requirements
  • 6+ years experience and success in the design/management of middle market group voluntary benefit plans gained in a consulting or carrier environment
  • Proven ability to generate revenue
  • Track record of success in managing middle market client relationships
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues, work in teams, and leverage the resources of other related practices to address client challenges
  • An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills
  • Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization
  • Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in health and welfare plan strategy and contributing to the development of new tools and approaches
  • Availability to travel 15-30% based on seasonal business development
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.


Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation.

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $160,000-$200,000 USD per year.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus
