As the Senior Director, Screening Medical Affairs, you'll have the chance to lead medical affairs and health equity teams focused on developing the market landscape to position Abbott as a leader in the molecular diagnostic industry. This is a highly visible, influential role reporting to the Divisional Vice President, Screening Portfolio, responsible for the successful development and execution of cohesive medical affairs strategies, including the creation and dissemination of medical and scientific information, external partnerships (e.g., expert advisory boards, KOLs, principal investigators, medical groups/associations), community engagement, and health equity.
What You'll Work On- Lead and serve as the expert resource for cohesive medical affairs strategies, identifying key trends affecting Abbott Cancer Diagnostics' strategy across consumers/patients, health care providers, payors, technology, industry, and health equity.
- Own the translation and execution of strategic imperatives into actionable Medical Affairs strategies and operational plans, driving cross-functional alignment with Market Access, R&D, Marketing, and Product Development.
- Lead and direct competitive analysis, strategy, and reporting in collaboration with the Strategy team, including identifying key competitors, assessing threats, and delivering researched findings to stakeholders.
- Perform strategic market evaluations, collaborating with the Market Access team to understand the reimbursement and economic landscape of key markets and applications.
- Effectively manage, support, and guide the team, including delegating responsibilities, assessing performance, and providing feedback and training opportunities.
- Prepare strategic communications for executive leadership and the board of directors.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business administration, scientific, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in a core business function (operations, facilities, finance, legal, human resources, commercial, etc.) with progressively increasing decision-making and leadership responsibility.
- 10+ years of experience directly and indirectly leading people, with demonstrated ability to communicate clear expectations, motivate and inspire others, and achieve goals through a team.
- 8+ years of experience effectively managing significant budgets and planning for future needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications- MBA or other advanced scientific degree.
- 15+ years of experience in a core business function (operations, facilities, finance, legal, human resources, commercial, etc.) with progressively increasing decision-making and leadership responsibility.
- Experience leading medical organizations in industry.
- Familiarity with health equity programs and policies.

The base pay for this position is $190,000.00 - $380,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
