Full Job Description

As a Senior Director, Program Management, you will lead the execution of strategic Systems and Informatics product development programs within the Core Laboratory Solutions business. You will provide cross-functional leadership across R&D, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, and Operations to successfully develop and commercialize innovative laboratory diagnostic solutions.  This role is accountable for driving predictable execution across complex, global product development programs while balancing business objectives, technical risk, quality, schedule, and cost. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted leader who enables executive decision making, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and drives accountability throughout the product lifecycle.

As a Senior Director, Program Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading large, complex Systems and Informatics product development programs within a global, regulated medical device environment from program initiation through commercialization and lifecycle management.
  • Driving cross-functional alignment across R&D, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, and Operations to achieve strategic business objectives.
  • Providing strategic program leadership throughout the product development lifecycle by balancing scope, schedule, quality, technical risk, cost, and business priorities.
  • Managing substantial program budgets while leading global cross-functional teams, external development partners, suppliers, and OEMs.
  • Leading executive program governance by providing clear communication of program health, key milestones, risks, mitigation plans, dependencies, and critical decisions to Integrated Business Planning (IBP) governance teams and senior leadership.
  • Ensuring successful completion of all Product Delivery Excellence (PDx) phase gate requirements while driving consistent execution and continuous improvement across programs.
  • Identifying, assessing, and proactively managing technical, regulatory, operational, and business risks throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Building strong partnerships across global organizations while influencing without direct authority to achieve enterprise objectives.
  • Driving a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and disciplined execution across cross-functional teams.

Required qualifications/skills to have for the success of this role:

  • Extensive experience leading complex, integrated medical device product development programs involving hardware, software, automation, systems integration, and laboratory diagnostic solutions within a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary R&D teams through all phases of product development, verification, validation, regulatory approval, commercialization, and sustaining engineering.
  • Proven ability to align program execution with business strategy while maintaining a strong product value proposition.
  • Experience leading global cross-functional teams across R&D, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, and Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of medical device product development processes, Design Controls, risk management, and FDA and international regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify program constraints, evaluate technical and business trade-offs, and drive timely executive decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to build alignment across diverse global organizations.
  • Experience managing third-party development partners, strategic suppliers, and OEM relationships.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience managing complex medical device or laboratory diagnostics product development programs.
  • 5+ years of experience within a regulated medical device, laboratory diagnostics, biotechnology, or life sciences organization.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent program management certification preferred.

The base pay range for this position is:

$169,580 - $233,178

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
