Director of Product

Lead Marty. Drive Product Execution. Help Build the Financial OS.

Location: Tampa, FL (in office)

THE ROLE

Lavu is building the Financial OS for modern restaurant brands - POS, Payments, Payroll, Banking, Cards and Marty, the AI intelligence layer that ties it all together.

You will lead:

• Marty - our AI agent ecosystem and intelligence platform
• All Product - POS, Payments, Payroll, Banking, Card Issuing
• Product Strategy - cross-product roadmap, adoption, and revenue impact
• Cross-functional execution with Engineering, Data, Design, and GTM
• Product performance across thousands of restaurants in 75 countries

This is the role that turns Lavu's product portfolio into a unified, AI-powered financial operating system used by the most ambitious restaurants in the world.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

1. Lead and Scale Marty (our AI Restaurant Operating System)

You define and drive the intelligence layer for the entire company.

You will:

• Own the AI roadmap and agent ecosystem
• Turn Marty into the system restaurants rely on daily
• Build and refine intelligence across POS, payments, payroll, banking
• Drive adoption across thousands of restaurants
• Make Marty a core retention, expansion, and revenue driver

2. Own Product Strategy Across the Financial OS

You are accountable for product outcomes across:

POS 1 Payments 1 Payroll 1 Banking 1 Cards

You will deliver:

• 90% attachment on payments
• 25% adoption of payroll, banking, and cards in 12 months
• High-impact financial and operational product releases
• Clear revenue and margin outcomes tied to product usage

3. Partner Closely with Engineering to Increase Velocity

You will not manage engineering, but your alignment with engineering drives the company.

You will:

• Set priorities, clarify specs, remove ambiguity
• Drive a fast, predictable product development rhythm
• Shape platform evolution and architecture priorities with engineering leadership
• Improve execution quality and reliability through clarity and focus

4. Drive Commercial Impact Through Product

This is a commercial role, not a feature factory.

You will:

• Deliver $5M+ ARR in embedded finance in 12-18 months
• Improve NRR through adoption
• Expand ARPU and unit economics
• Build a roadmap tied directly to financial impact, not vanity metrics

5. Build the Product Org That Scales

• You inherit a working team.
• You build the next generation.

You will:

• Hire PMs, AI product talent, and design
• Establish standards, rituals, and clarity
• Build the culture that ships consistently
• Strengthen cross-functional operating rhythms

REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

Technical + Domain Leadership

• Built and scaled fintech or embedded finance products
• Experience with payments, payroll, banking, or card issuing
• Strong understanding of platform architecture
• Experience owning data or AI-driven product systems
• Can partner deeply with senior engineering leaders

Execution Track Record

• Owned zero-to-one and scaled one-to-ten products
• Delivered complex, regulated, multi-product environments
• Improved execution velocity and product quality
• Strong understanding of product economics and monetization

Leadership

• Clear communicator who creates alignment
• Can influence cross-functionally without drama or politics
• Operates with urgency, clarity, and ownership
• Can immediately lead Product at scale

NICE TO HAVES

Restaurant, hospitality, or retail systems experience

Experience with multi-location or high-volume operators

Experience building intelligence layers or AI agents

Experience managing global or distributed product orgs
