The Senior Director, Physician Experience leads CareerMD's strategy and execution for deepening our relationships with physicians and advanced practice providers - ensuring CareerMD is the career partner for life for the providers we serve. Today, a large part of how we deliver on that promise is through the country's largest network of physician career events - more than 300 and growing in-person career fairs, non-clinical didactics, and virtual career fairs each year - but the mandate of this role is broader than running events. It is about building durable relationships with physicians and providers, growing our network of GME and education partners, and continuously strengthening how we engage physicians and providers across every touchpoint.
This leader owns the relationship between CareerMD and the physicians, advanced practice providers, and GME programs we serve. They manage a team of event professionals, physician engagement experts, and a large network of contractors, and partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, CareerMD's Medical Advisor, and CHG's Provider Strategy organization - representing the voice of the physician and provider inside CareerMD's strategic planning.
The team is organized around three pillars: Events & Experiences, Program Partnerships & Education, and Physician Engagement Operations.
ResponsibilitiesEvents & Experiences- Manage a team of four dedicated event professionals who successfully operate the largest network of physician career events in the country - over 300 and growing in-person career fairs, non-clinical didactics, and virtual career fairs.
- Establish clear roles, accountability, and operational standards across the events team, ensuring reliable, high-quality delivery at scale.
- Work with Marketing to deliver rich career fair events that maximize participation from employer/physician recruitment clients, drive strong attendance from physician and advanced practice provider candidates, and ensure a superior experience for everyone involved.
Program Partnerships & Education- Grow and strengthen our network of graduate medical education (GME) program partners, encouraging their residents and fellows to attend career fairs and non-clinical education programming.
- Work closely with CareerMD's Medical Advisor to execute an educational strategy that supports physicians in their lifelong career journeys and deepens physician and provider engagement.
- Oversee our partner development strategy, empowering team members to develop, maintain, and grow third-party partnerships that accelerate our strategic physician engagement goals.
Physician Engagement Operations- Oversee physician and provider engagement for CareerMD, growing our network of engaged physicians and providers and strengthening those relationships over time.
- Own the strategy and execution that advances CareerMD's vision of becoming the career partner for life for physicians and providers across the country.
- Serve as a key voice for the physician and provider audience in CareerMD's broader business strategy, bringing engagement data and audience insight to leadership discussions.
- Partner with Product and Provider teams to create and execute a strategy that accelerates realization of our vision to become the physician's career partner for life.
- Collaborate with Product to create and execute a vision for the future that combines the right technology and the right human touch at every moment in a physician's or provider's career.
Cross-Functional Partnership- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Tech, and Analytics to advance CareerMD's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
- Partner with colleagues across CareerMD and CHG Healthcare to ensure we are providing mission-critical career services for physicians that drive deep engagement and maximize business results for CareerMD.
Who You AreWe care as much about how you think and operate as what's on your resume. If you recognize yourself in the traits below, we want to hear from you.
- Engagement-minded operator. You can run a large, complex, recurring calendar of events without dropping balls - but you see events as one of the ways we build engagement, not the mission itself, and you stay focused on the deeper physician relationships they create.
- Relationship-minded. You genuinely care about the people you serve and build trust with physicians, providers, and partners over the long term - not just for a single event.
- Bias for action. You identify what you can move forward right now and you do it, adjusting as you learn rather than waiting for perfect information.
- Collaborative. You work naturally across Sales, Marketing, Product, and clinical partners, and you know how to bring people along toward a shared goal.
- Low ego. Best idea wins. You give credit generously and put the team and the mission ahead of being right. You can change your mind with new information.
Qualifications- 6+ years leading teams whose core purpose was building and managing relationships with physicians and/or advanced practice providers - with a genuine understanding of what physicians care about, how they think about their careers, and how to earn their trust over time.
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute relationship strategies that help physicians and providers advance their careers while also driving measurable business value for the organization - you know how to make both sides of that equation work together.
- Strong track record managing and developing a team, with clear delegation and accountability structures.
- Operations experience managing complex, recurring programs at scale, with accountability for quality, budget, and stakeholder experience.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering effectively across sales, marketing, and product functions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage many moving parts and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Comfort engaging directly with physicians, healthcare institutions, and other professional stakeholders.
- Working proficiency with AI tools to support daily tasks and decision-making.
Preferred- Experience running event operations within the physician or provider space - career fairs, didactics, or similar programming.
- Experience in healthcare, healthcare staffing, physician recruitment, medical education, or a closely adjacent vertical.
- Experience working with or alongside graduate medical education (GME) programs, residents, or fellows.
- Experience building or scaling partner development or third-party partnership programs.
- Experience operating within a private equity-backed or strategically-owned business.
- Fluency with AI tools, integrating them into your workflows to accelerate work and automate certain processes.
