Description
As the Senior Director of Operations, you will lead and scale operations across a large, high-output facility where operations span across receiving, production, post-production, finishing, quality, and shipping. You will operate at a strategic level, partnering closely with the Vice President of Operations and executive leadership to shape long-term operational strategy, ensure scalable capacity, and deliver consistent, high-performance outcomes. This role is all about building alignment, developing strong leaders, and making sure our systems, processes, and teams can keep up with growth while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. This isn't about managing day-to-day tasks. It's about raising the bar across the entire operation.
What you'll do- Own the performance of the facility-ensuring receiving, production, post-production, finishing, quality, and shipping are aligned, efficient, and delivering results.
- Ensure the facility is set up for what's next-capacity, staffing, and infrastructure included.
- Manage vendors and contractors for building set-up.
- Oversee and lead 200+ new employees across 4 shifts (24/7 operations).
- Partner with the Vice President of Operations and executive leadership to define and execute operational strategy, capacity planning, and growth initiatives.
- Lead through influence across multiple layers of leadership, including Directors, Managers, and Supervisors, to drive consistency, accountability, and performance.
- Establish and monitor high-level operational KPIs, including throughput, labor efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Manage profit and loss and drive improvements.
- Identify systemic bottlenecks and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve workflow efficiency, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure facility readiness to support growth, including infrastructure, staffing models, and operational systems.
- Drive a culture of operational excellence through Lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.
- Collaborate with HR and operational leadership on workforce planning, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality standards across all departments, ensuring consistent execution.
- Facilitate strong cross-functional collaboration between departments to improve communication, coordination, and overall facility performance.
- Serve as a key escalation point for complex operational challenges, providing high-level problem solving and decision-making support.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing or operations, including oversight of large-scale or complex facilities
- Proven experience operating at a senior leadership level, influencing Directors and cross-functional leaders
- Strong expertise in facility operations, production systems, and end-to-end manufacturing workflows
- Demonstrated success scaling operations, improving capacity, and driving measurable performance improvements
- Deep understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong strategic thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance big-picture planning and execution
- Excellent communication and leadership presence, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Experience with workforce planning, organizational design, and leadership development
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or related software
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in sheet metal, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing
- Experience managing multi-shift operations
- Knowledge in structured problem-solving methodologies
- Budgeting and resource planning experience
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field
Essential Physical Requirements- Ability to move throughout office and manufacturing environments for extended periods
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs while conducting shop floor reviews
- Ability to visually inspect equipment, materials, and processes to assess quality and safety
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work in environments with noise, moving equipment, temperature variation, and industrial hazards while following safety protocols
Work Environment- This role works across office and manufacturing environments and requires regular presence on the shop floor

Salary Description
$170,000 - $270,000 annually
