Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Director of Learning and Development to lead and oversee company-wide learning strategy and programs. The successful candidate will partner with key stakeholders and subject matter experts within the organization to analyze, design, develop and evaluate learning and development offerings for the business. We are seeking an entrepreneurial and data-driven candidate to build and implement training tools, measure their impact, and adjust as needed in a fast-paced environment with continuously evolving training needs.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Director of Learning and Development will have responsibility for the strategy, execution and management of our Learning and Development function. We are seeking candidates located in the Denver Metro market open to a hybrid work schedule with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

The Director of Learning and Development will serve as WVP's subject matter expert in the learning function, developing and implementing programs to support our veterinarians, support staff, and corporate teammates. The Director will be responsible for creating content, managing the distribution and delivery of content and measuring the impact of learning programs to inform future investments. Responsibilities in leading the function include, though are not limited to:

Learning Platforms
  • Effectively evaluate and implement the best LMS platform to deliver training programs to veterinarians, technicians, support staff, and corporate staff
  • Stay current with industry trends in leadership, managerial, and employee training programs
  • Enhance and evolve current learning and training curriculum and programs to ensure delivery, adoption and use enhancement
  • Develop and manage L&D vendor relationships

Learning Strategy
  • Oversee the development of learning plans that continuously build team member skills and support career mobility, integrating new curriculum development and delivery methodologies. Focus initially on key learning programs to support veterinarian development and retention
  • Develop, evolve, and sustain WVP's learning strategy to address business needs, contribute to the development and retention of top talent, and continuously strengthen the pipeline of new managers and leaders

Stakeholder Service
  • Actively consult with stakeholders across the company to define learning and development priorities, with a key focus on hospital-level support, including veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
  • Serve as learning consultant to assess needs, design and develop recommendations, lead content development, audit courses, develop communications plans and select external vendors
  • Develop, implement, and communicate metrics and monitoring plans to demonstrate the impact of learning and development programs on talent support and performance

Skills and Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or master's degree is desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of related organizational development experience, with some experience in a leadership role overseeing learning curriculum design, facilitation, and training strategy, and supporting talent development and management
  • Implementation of LMS is highly desirable
  • While the candidate may come from any industry, experience in fast-paced healthcare provider setting is preferred
  • Highly competent and experienced in learning principles and contemporary learning theory and practices, including instructional design models, interactive learning technology, training impact evaluation, and overall performance improvement practices
  • Demonstrated track record of working across functions and stakeholders to define needs, leverage resources, implement plans and gain commitment to action
  • Experience with integrating learning programs into talent planning at all stages of lifecycle and succession planning
  • Demonstrated history of presenting use-case scenarios and business cases for programs with rigorous and quantifiable analyses to the most senior levels of the organization

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. The salary range for this opportunity is $165,000- $200,000 annually. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location. You will be provided more detailed information about compensation and benefits for your specific location. Where required under applicable law, WVP provides eligible employees with paid sick leave, health emergency leave, and similar benefits programs, all in accordance with the requirements of state and local law depending on the location of the practice you support.
