OVERVIEW

Better Together is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven leader to accelerate revenue growth and expand philanthropic partnerships that fuel our mission. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Director of Donor Growth & Revenue will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, multi-year growth strategy designed to increase charitable revenue, strengthen donor engagement, and support organizational expansion.

This role combines strategy, leadership, and frontline fundraising. The Senior Director will build and manage a robust pipeline of major donors, foundations, corporate partners, and high-capacity prospects while developing the systems, processes, and accountability needed to scale revenue growth. Working closely with the CEO, Executive Directors, and development team, this leader will help drive donor acquisition, stewardship, and long-term philanthropic investment at both the state and national levels.

The ideal candidate is a proven growth leader who thrives on building relationships, creating opportunities, and translating vision into measurable results. They are equally comfortable networking at a high level donor event, at a donor meeting, or coaching team members to achieve ambitious revenue goals.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Director of Donor Growth & Revenue will have four primary roles, broken down into key responsibilities. They are:

Leadership, Management & Accountability (LMA)
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability for the Development team.
  • Directly supervise and develop team members, including donor acquisition, donor cultivation, and grant functions.
  • Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and success metrics for each team member.
  • Partner with organizational leadership to drive high-performing donor growth at scale through clear communication, clean handoffs, strong relationship management, and consistent fundraising processes.
  • Ensure priorities, resources, and workflows are aligned to organizational goals.
  • Foster strong collaboration and communication across teams.
  • Build organizational capacity and leadership bench strength within the department.

Revenue Growth & Relationship Development
  • Lead the organization's revenue growth strategy with a focus on expanding philanthropic support and long-term sustainability.
  • Develop and execute annual and multi-year growth plans that increase revenue, donor engagement, and organizational reach.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team on major donor strategy, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
  • Oversee the development pipeline to ensure a consistent flow of qualified prospects moving through the donor journey.
  • Provide strategy and standards to Executive Directors in local fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and community board development.
  • Help build and strengthen community boards and volunteer leadership networks.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion strategies.
  • Monitor fundraising performance and adjust strategies to achieve growth goals.

Strategic Growth & Innovation
  • Help identify opportunities to expand impact, strengthen sustainability, and accelerate organizational growth.
  • Evaluate trends, opportunities, and challenges that may impact future growth.
  • Develop scalable strategies, systems, and structures that support continued expansion.
  • Bring a growth mindset and business-oriented perspective to organizational decision-making.
  • Contribute to long-term planning and organizational strategy beyond fundraising.

Enterprise Alignment & Execution
  • Partner closely with other department leaders to ensure smooth development integration.
  • Ensure fundraising strategies are aligned with organizational priorities and growth initiatives.
  • Work alongside Revenue Operations to improve pipeline visibility, forecasting, reporting, and performance measurement.
  • Help create alignment between donor engagement, volunteer engagement, partnerships, church engagement, and community impact efforts.
  • Leverage relationships across the organization to identify new opportunities for growth and engagement.
  • Champion collaboration and remove barriers that prevent teams from working effectively together.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, donor development, business development, sales, or nonprofit leadership, with a proven track record of revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated success personally securing and closing six-figure gifts, partnerships, or comparable investments. Ability to provide donor or partner references.
  • Experience cultivating and stewarding major donors, foundations, corporate partners, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising and revenue growth plans.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, presentation, and networking skills.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach teams and drive performance.
  • Data-driven and organized, with experience managing pipelines, forecasting, and fundraising metrics.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce (or similar CRM), WordPress, Basecamp, and Zapier.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout Florida and nationally.

TIMING, LOCATION AND COMPENSATION

Better Together seeks to fill this position as soon as possible. The organization's headquarters are in Naples, Florida, but all the Better Together staff reside in Florida.
