About the Role:

The Senior Director of Business Development provides leadership, strategic planning, execution, guidance and accountability for the Market Director of Business Development and individual sales representatives nationally as assigned. This role is responsible for creating and driving sales strategy, meeting all shareholder, company and facility goals, and coaching and developing both leaders and top individual performers by providing strategic vision, direction and trustworthy leadership.

This is a leadership position where the employee is expected to manage and retain a high performing, remote team with an emphasis on integrity, professionalism, results and accountability. This candidate is responsible for understanding the behavioral health industry and the specific sales skills and approaches that are most effective for developing, growing and maintaining business in our industry. The candidate should possess a working knowledge of healthcare sales and the ability to coach and teach the practical skills required for the sales team to be successful. In addition, the Senior Director of BD will need to possess strong analytical, hiring and recruiting skills and the ability to translate metrics into a practical strategy for the team.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 6-10 years of sales leadership experience in a healthcare environment is preferred
  • Established connections and relationships in the behavioral health field preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully driving revenue growth and expanding market presence in a competitive environment.
  • Strong understanding of business development processes, market analysis, and sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting census across all facilities and all levels of care by managing business development employees as assigned
  • Training, coaching and leading both managers and individual contributors to maximize their potential as employees and meet or exceed all national performance and metric goals.

  • Managing a team of sales professionals and sales leaders to achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training and developing new talent
  • Upholding and reinforcing all company policies and procedures
  • Basic understanding of employment law and general understanding of human resources
  • Daily tactical management of sales employees and sales leaders as assigned
  • Formal reporting on performance, planning and execution of the sales strategy for senior management, executive team and facility leadership
  • Ensuring accurate and complete recording of sales team member activities into the CRM.
  • Delivering accurate forecasts and analytics for leadership and the team through close management of sales forecasting via CRM
  • Performance management including coaching and mentoring of sales team members to achieve maximum personal potential and continuous monitoring of performance to KPIs.
  • Driving best practices on the sales team through the adoption of a successful sales process.
  • Understanding comparative selling in the assigned region
  • Working closely with facility management and field sales professionals to develop prospecting strategies
  • Special projects and additional duties as assigned
