SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a key member of Senior Leadership, provides strategic direction, executive-level leadership, planning, organization, and general management for aspects of clinical operations. Actively promotes the mission of the organization by assuring the achievement of overall quality, service, and performance outcomes.

Reporting to the Penn State Health Medical Group lead executive, is responsible for overall administrative and operational functions of nursing and clinical areas. This includes proactively identifying strategies and tactics that align with the goals and priorities of the system as a whole to deliver high-quality patient care and enhance overall patient satisfaction.

Responsible for assuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards of accreditation and for achieving the quality and cost objectives that drive value to patients and the community.

With a dotted line connection to the Chief Nursing Officer of the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, champions alignment in compliance with regulatory provisions, ensuring the integration of services and compliance with long-range objectives and strategies. Includes the provision of excellent quality services and the practice of sound clinical and business practices across the Penn State Health ambulatory care of Community Medical Group and Academic Practice Division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • RN License - Pennsylvania
  • Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • Seven (7) years of related experience in an ambulatory care setting in a highly matrixed reporting structure are required.
  • Seven (7) years of management responsibility is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Experience in a Magnet organization.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
