Job Details

This role is in support of Cencora's veterinary and livestock production solutions marketed through our MWI Animal Health business. MWI Animal Health is a leading brand of Cencora, offering animal health services globally.

Reporting to the VP, MWI Marketing, the Senior Director, Marketing Services is responsible for building mutual success for our business and key manufacturer partners by setting strategic direction of our marketing services offering and owning, managing and growing a portfolio of marketing services that can be deployed on behalf of partner manufacturers.

This role leads program operations in partnership with cross-functional leadership to ensure effective execution of marketing services and related initiatives. Using data-driven decision making, this role sets strategic direction for business operations to drive growth, optimize programs, increase program utilization, improve workflow efficiency, and enhance end-to-end delivery performance and stakeholder experience across marketing services. The role also establishes standardized processes, governance, and effective ways of working to strengthen cross-functional collaboration and streamline execution, while overseeing contract management and vendor compliance to ensure services are delivered in alignment with agreed obligations and risk controls.

In addition, the Senior Director builds and leads high-performing marketing delivery teams by setting clear goals, developing talent, coaching for consistent execution, and driving accountability to operating plans, performance expectations, and quality measures. This role requires a strong strategic mindset, strong relationship building and networking skills, and a people leader who can translate business priorities into effective marketing service solutions that deliver measurable value for MWI Animal Health and its manufacturer partners.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own, manage and grow a portfolio of marketing and promotional services including digital, print and event marketing opportunities.
  • Act as both a highly competent representative of our company's technical abilities and a driver of new capability evolution based on market insights and manufacturer demands.
  • Look outside our company and industry to keep abreast of B2B / B2B2C demand generation strategies.
  • Own industry and general market intelligence on marketing service benchmarks and our businesses' performance in relation to benchmarks as a method for growing the marketing services programs.
  • Partner with cross-functionally including internal sales, marketing, and IT partners to deliver successful manufacturer campaigns.
  • Align sales initiatives with manufacturer and in house brands marketing initiatives, where appropriate.
  • Partner with manufacturers to co-develop marketing plans that drive mutual success
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of how to partner with manufacturers to create programs that are in alignment with our business' operating, financial, sales and profitability goals.
  • Develop creative solutions to the unique business needs of manufacturer partners
  • Utilize data intelligence to track and refine tactics throughout a campaign to drive to campaign KPIs.
  • During active campaigns, analyze and translate data into meaningful insights for the manufacturer partner as compelling, valuable reports to share to show ROI and value.
  • Build strong partnerships and rapport with manufacturer teams and channel partners through consistent networking and engagement.
  • Manage a team of specialists devoted to executing the operational aspects of manufacturer marketing programs and activities through the effective development, reinforcement of processes, and internal partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain all program materials including pitch presentations, media guide and rate cards.
  • Organize execution of campaigns, managing to timelines, and balancing multiple priorities and available marketing capacity.
  • Forecast and deliver on annual program revenue targets.
  • Oversee the marketing services invoicing, collections and tracking processes - including personnel - to ensure timely collection of earned marketing revenue.
  • Track and manage to established manufacturer marketing funds, as contractually provided to our business units.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Requires broad experience in fields such as marketing management, business administration, accountancy, sales or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree Program; MBA with a concentration in Marketing or equivalent preferred. Normally requires six (6) years directly related and progressively responsible experience and 4+ years of experience in a management capacity required.
  • Experience in the animal health industry strongly preferred.
  • Dynamic leadership ability with experience developing high-performance teams.
  • Ability to lead the development of standardized processes and end-to-end solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects.
  • Strong networking and consultative skills with the ability to facilitate groups to a resolution.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving.


Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:

  • High degree of technical knowledge of principles in marketing / demand generation strategies
  • Excellent process design skills
  • Working knowledge of drug distribution and/or manufacturer business, specifically animal health
  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Working knowledge of data segmentation and strength in data analysis
  • Demonstrated history of operating as a business manager
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Salary Range*

$141,600 - 283,250

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
