What you will do

We are seeking a Senior Director to join PGIM's Product Development team. The team manages the product development lifecycle and plays a critical role in creating, structuring, obtaining approval for and launching investment strategies across public and private markets for institutional, retail, insurance and private wealth investors.

This role will serve as a senior product lead for institutional real estate initiatives, with primary focus on developing, structuring and launching private real estate investment solutions. The individual will translate investment capabilities, client demand, market opportunity, legal/tax considerations and commercial priorities into scalable, executable products.

The Senior Director will play a key role in driving the growth of PGIM's alternatives efforts globally by bringing deep expertise in investment vehicle structures, institutional investor needs and the ability to design competitive alternatives products. This person will partner cross-functionally with investment, distribution, product strategy, marketing, legal, tax, compliance, operations and senior leadership stakeholders.

Strong analytical skills, asset management experience, fund-structuring judgment, executive communication skills and the ability to independently drive complex product-related initiatives are essential. Leadership with humility, sound judgment, detail-orientation, clear communication and teamwork will be critical to success in this role.

This position reports to the Head of Institutional Product Development and will be part of the broader Newark-based Product Development team, while collaborating closely with PGIM Real Estate colleagues globally. This role offers the opportunity to lead product initiatives across the breadth of PGIM's real estate and alternatives platform.

This is a senior individual-contributor role requiring the ability to lead workstreams, create structure around ambiguous product opportunities, drive decisions and provide senior-level guidance across cross-functional project teams.

What you can expect
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across distribution, product strategy, portfolio management, marketing, legal, tax, technology, business operations and compliance to bring innovative real estate investment products to market
  • Oversee and lead execution of cross-functional activities spanning the product lifecycle including product design, development, approval, go-to-market preparedness, post-launch operational readiness, and related infrastructure build-out
  • Partner with investment teams, legal and tax counsel to define product structures, vehicle options, fund terms, investor access points, liquidity mechanics and implementation requirements
  • Prepare decision-ready materials for senior leadership and governance committees, including product concepts, business cases, launch recommendations, and implementation plans
  • Identify and help resolve key product risks and constraints, including legal, tax, regulatory, operational, liquidity, valuation, governance and distribution considerations
  • Manage institutional real estate product pipeline content and meet with internal stakeholders to communicate new product pipeline activities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the firm on the PGIM Real Estate's commingled funds platform, key fund structuring concepts, distribution markets and channels, and the impact of local regulations; leverage knowledge to support innovation
  • Maintain technical expertise and understanding of regulatory, legal and tax frameworks, proactively considering the implications on new and existing products and responses to changing requirements

What you will bring
  • 15+ years of relevant asset management, investment product development, fund structuring, legal/tax structuring, product strategy or institutional investment experience, preferably with exposure to private real estate, private markets, or alternatives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex initiatives simultaneously, drive execution, manage dependencies and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
  • Intellectually curious, goal-oriented individual, self-starter with a bias toward action, strong ownership mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality results with integrity
  • Ability to prepare committee-ready materials and communicate complex product-related considerations clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and ability to balance strategic judgment with rigorous execution
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and build trusted partnerships across investments, distribution, legal, tax, compliance, operations and senior management
  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills, with ability to produce executive-ready materials and clear analytical outputs
  • Practical experience with institutional fund structures and investor access vehicles, including private funds, feeders, parallel vehicles, REIT/blocker structures, Luxembourg/Ireland/Delaware/Cayman or other relevant domiciles, side letters, liquidity mechanics, fee terms and cross-border investor considerations

What will set you apart?
  • Experience launching complex private real estate, private markets, alternatives, or institutional commingled funds from concept through closing
  • Strong understanding of fund structuring, investor access vehicles, liquidity mechanics, fee terms, side letters and cross-border distribution considerations
  • Working knowledge of tax principles relevant to real estate investment fund structuring, with ability to partner effectively with tax counsel
  • Executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders across functions
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous situations, driving decisions and creating structure around complex initiatives
