This role will act as a player/coach by being an active participant in building new data products, while leading a small team centered on three outcomes: uncovering new data and product opportunities through rigorous research, partnering with technology and analytics teams to build and launch data products, and converting those capabilities into scalable revenue. The role also helps shape Cboe's AI strategy by identifying where AI can enhance existing and future analytics products.

What You'll Do

Data Science Research & Product Discovery
  • Lead data scientists and applied researchers in uncovering new datasets, signals, and product concepts with commercial potential
  • Oversee research from exploratory analysis and modeling through prototype development to generate evidence-based product recommendations
  • Assess the feasibility, differentiation, and market relevance of new ideas and help prioritize the strongest opportunities
  • Help with building out analytics and insights related to Cboe's prediction markets
  • Monitor market trends, client needs, and competition to focus research on real demand and differentiated opportunities
  • Establish research and validation standards using statistical analysis, pilots, and experimentation to test product hypotheses

Product Development Collaboration
  • Serve as the lead data science partner to technology, engineering, and analytics teams by translating research into technical requirements
  • Partner with roadmap owners to align priorities to data science insights and package outputs to accelerate development
  • Support delivery during build by answering technical questions, validating outputs, and preserving research intent
  • Contribute to post-launch analysis of performance, usage, and enhancement opportunities

AI Strategy for Analytics Offerings
  • Define the product vision and commercial roadmap for integrating Generative AI. Agentic and advanced analytics capabilities into the Data Vantage analytics product suite, with a focus on customer value and revenue impact
  • Evaluate AI-driven product opportunities (e.g., intelligent insights, automation, and data enrichment) in alignment with Cboe's data ecosystem, client workflows, and strategic product priorities
  • Partner with engineering, data science, and platform teams to translate AI opportunities into clear product requirements, prioritizing usability, scalability, and time-to-market within the broader roadmap
  • Lead the development of product-level principles for AI-enabled features, including transparency, explainability, governance, and responsible use in regulated financial markets
  • Serve as the voice of the customer by incorporating client feedback, usage data, and market insights to shape AI-enabled features that address real-world workflows and deliver measurable client outcomes

Monetization & Commercialization
  • Support pricing, packaging, and licensing decisions by articulating the value and differentiation of the data and methodology
  • Help build business cases for new investments using data-backed analysis of market opportunity and demand
  • Identify ways to extend or repackage existing datasets and analytics into new revenue streams
  • Track revenue and adoption metrics and partner with commercial teams to refine products based on performance

What You'll Bring

Required
  • 10+ years in data science, applied research, or analytics within financial services, market data, fintech, or another data-intensive business
  • Experience leading data science or analytics teams and turning analytical work into product outcomes
  • Strong understanding of market data, exchange ecosystems, or financial data products and client value drivers
