We are searching for the best talent for Senior Director, Global AI Fluency to be in Raritan, NJ

Purpose:

The Senior Director, Global AI Fluency defines and leads the global AI fluency strategy for the Global Commercial Strategy Organization. This role is accountable for establishing the enterprise capability agenda, operating model, adoption priorities, and governance approach required for commercial teams to use artificial intelligence responsibly, effectively, and at scale. The Senior Director sets strategy for and oversees the design, delivery, and scaling of practical AI learning experiences, adoption interventions, and workflow integration that accelerate AI-enabled commercial transformation.

This leader will establish a globally consistent capability framework while enabling appropriate regional and functional adaptation across commercial, medical, market access, and related functions. The role will translate advances in generative AI, agentic AI, and digital productivity into role-based learning journeys, priority workflow adoption, measurable business outcomes, and sustained changes in ways of working.

The Senior Director will partner closely with GCSO leadership, regional business teams, Human Resources, J&J Learning and Development, Technology, Legal, Privacy, Healthcare Compliance, Information Security, and enterprise AI governance teams. This leader will influence executive stakeholders and connect across the J&J ecosystem, including R&D Data Science, regional AI teams, regional Learning and Development teams, and technology development teams that are building related capabilities.

The Senior Director, Global AI Fluency will develop and steward the AI fluency budget for GCSO and own recommendations for investment prioritization, resource allocation, vendor engagement, scale-up decisions, and value/ROI measurement across GCSO.

This leader will report into the VP, AI Strategy and Execution within the Global Commercial Data and AI department in GCSO.

You will be responsible for:
  • Define and lead the global AI fluency strategy and multi-year roadmap for GCSO. Establish the enterprise capability framework, proficiency standards, strategic priorities, operating model, governance approach, and adoption objectives that enable responsible AI use and AI-driven commercial transformation.
  • Design and scale the AI fluency capability ecosystem, including role-based learning journeys, certifications, academies, immersive experiences, leadership programs, communities of practice, and enterprise adoption infrastructure covering AI literacy, responsible use, prompt practices, generative AI, agentic AI, and human-AI collaboration.
  • Drive enterprise adoption and change management by partnering with business leaders to identify priority workflows, address barriers, embed AI into everyday work, and sustain behavior change through clear accountabilities and reinforcement mechanisms. Ensure AI fluency efforts translate into measurable productivity, commercial effectiveness, operating model, employee experience, and responsible AI outcomes.
  • Establish governance, measurement, and executive reporting for AI fluency. Define proficiency assessments, adoption measures, program effectiveness indicators, and business outcome metrics aligned with responsible AI, privacy, security, healthcare compliance, and enterprise risk requirements.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with internal and external partners, including technology providers, learning partners, academic institutions, industry organizations, and enterprise AI stakeholders, to bring relevant innovation, leading practices, and scalable solutions into GCSO.
  • Represent GCSO in relevant enterprise AI capability, learning, and development forums.
  • Sponsor experimentation that validate new learning methods and AI-enabled ways of working before broader scale-up.
  • Maintain awareness of external developments in AI, learning science, organizational transformation, and the evolving regulatory environment.


Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in business, organizational psychology, learning sciences, data science, artificial intelligence, technology management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience leading global, enterprise-scale transformation, digital/AI adoption, capability building, and change management in complex, regulated, matrixed environments is required.
  • Strong understanding of generative AI, agentic AI, digital productivity tools, enterprise adoption models, and responsible AI principles.
  • Ability to translate emerging technology into practical, role-based adoption strategies, executive-ready recommendations, and measurable business value.
  • Experience developing global capability frameworks, learning strategies, change plans, governance models, and adoption measurement approaches.
  • Demonstrated executive influence, facilitation, and communication skills, including the ability to frame trade-offs, align senior stakeholders, and drive enterprise decisions.
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders, shaping investment recommendations, and governing enterprise programs with measurable business impact.
  • Ability to lead across functions, regions, cultures, and time zones in a highly matrixed environment while balancing global consistency with local relevance.
  • Strong analytical, program management, portfolio prioritization, and budget stewardship skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive leadership, and ethical, compliant application of AI.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $196,000 and $342,700 USD.
