Position Summary
Leads the enterprise technical training and workforce capability strategy with end-to-end accountability for all accredited and non-accredited technical training programs across the organization. Establishes consistent standards and governance across nuclear and non-nuclear programs and ensures the workforce is prepared to operate safely, reliably, and cost-effectively.
The role partners closely with the operating business leaders who hold regulatory accountability, ensuring technical training programs enable and sustain regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and operational performance. It drives continuous improvement and ensures the organization maintains industry-leading standards in technical training and instructional excellence.
The ideal candidate will be located in the Minneapolis, MN area and be able to work hybrid, 3 days a week in our downtown Minneapolis office.
Essential Responsibilities
Set and own the enterprise technical training strategy and long-range workforce-capability roadmap, aligned to business priorities, capital projects, and workforce plans. Establish and chair enterprise technical training governance, driving consistent standards, quality, and instructional excellence across nuclear and non-nuclear programs. Provide leadership to multi-layer technical training organization, ensuring consistency in program delivery, quality standards, and instructional excellence.
Ensure all training programs comply with applicable regulatory requirements, including NRC regulations, National Academy of Nuclear Training standards, operating licenses, and Quality Assurance plans.
Serve as a senior representative in industry benchmarking and external engagements (e.g., INPO, WANO, NRC).
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that link training effectiveness to workforce readiness, operational performance, and safety outcomes.
Own enterprise technical training budgets, resource allocation, and staffing strategies across programs and large-scale initiatives.
Partner with senior business leaders to align training strategies with operational needs, capital projects, and performance improvement initiatives.
Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert on technical training and workforce capability, shaping business strategy through capability insights.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (advanced degree preferred).
10+ years of nuclear or technical operations experience, with significant leadership experience in training or workforce development.
Demonstrated experience leading large, complex training organizations and enterprise initiatives.
Deep knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training and applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., NRC, NANT, 10 CFR 50/55).
Proven experience in strategic planning, financial management, and performance analytics.
Preferred Requirements
Preferred candidate will have experience in the utility space, industrial, or highly technical industry.
Experience leading accreditation processes and regulatory evaluations (INPO, NRC).
Strongly prefer a background in enterprise learning governance, instructional technology, or simulation programs.
Ideal candidate will have experience leading teams across dispersed geographies.
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $170,700.00 to $242,366.00 per year
