Full Job Description
The Senior Director, Contracts & Procurement leads the enterprise-wide strategy, governance, and execution of the vendor contract lifecycle across the procurement function. This role owns contract intake, review workflows, policy enforcement, CLM optimization, and risk management frameworks, ensuring contracts are executed efficiently, compliant with company standards, and aligned with legal and regulatory requirements. The Senior Director acts as a strategic advisor to the VP of Procurement and may serve as a delegate/backup as needed.

This Hybrid role requires in-person work at our Newton, MA headquarters.

Responsibilities:
  • Own and continuously improve the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including intake, triage, review routing, approvals, execution readiness, repository management, renewals, and expirations
  • Establish and enforce enterprise contract governance standards, including template usage, clause libraries, fallback positions, and exception management
  • Lead the strategy, implementation, and optimization of CLM platforms (e.g., Workday CLM, DocuSign)
  • Drive automation, workflow efficiency, and data integrity across contract processes
  • Partner closely with Legal, Privacy, InfoSec, and Risk teams to ensure appropriate review, escalation, and compliance for all vendor agreements
  • Define and operationalize risk frameworks (e.g., liability thresholds, insurance requirements, data protection standards)
  • Lead and develop a team of contract managers and/or governance resources, setting priorities, performance expectations, and development plans
  • Define and track KPIs related to cycle time, compliance, contract quality, and risk management
  • Advise the VP of Procurement and senior leadership on contract governance, risk posture, and operational effectiveness


Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Law Degree or a Master's Degree in Law
  • 10 years experience in strategic procurement or contract management, including experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, logistics, and any related activities
  • 5 years supervisory experience, preferably in Contract Management

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $178,000 - $200,000 annually. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.

This position is also eligible for a Bonus Plan and Restricted Stock Units (RSU's).
