Summary

Tango has an exciting opportunity to join the team as our Senior Director, Clinical Sciences. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines functional leadership of the Clinical Science team with direct scientific leadership of one or more clinical development programs. The successful candidate will mentor and develop Clinical Scientists while remaining actively engaged in the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of clinical studies. You will ensure scientific rigor throughout study conduct, oversee data review and analysis, and partner cross-functionally to advance clinical development programs. This role reports to the Vice President, Clinical Development.

Your Role:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-6 Clinical Scientists, providing balanced resource allocation across Tango's clinical development portfolio
  • Serve as a hands-on leader, combining people leadership with direct scientific leadership of one or more clinical program to ensure the successful design, execution, and interpretation of clinical studies.
  • Provide scientific leadership throughout the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of early- and late-stage oncology clinical trials.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Development physicians, Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Translational Medicine, and Medical Writing to ensure high-quality execution of clinical programs.
  • Lead the development and review of key clinical documents, including protocols, investigator brochures, informed consent forms, clinical study reports, clinical development plans, and regulatory briefing materials.
  • Interpret emerging clinical, safety, PK/PD, and biomarker data to inform study conduct, dose selection, expansion opportunities, and overall development strategy.
  • Contribute scientific expertise to regulatory submissions and health authority interactions.
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in Clinical Science deliverables by establishing best practices, mentoring team members, and continuously improving Clinical Science processes.
  • Represent Clinical Science on cross-functional study teams, governance committees, and portfolio discussions.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and scientifically rigorous culture within the Clinical Science function
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.


What You Bring:
  • MD, PhD, PharmD, MS within a relevant scientific discipline
  • At least 12 years of experience in clinical science, or research
  • At least 7 years of experience in oncology
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and managing clinical trials, including knowledge of regulatory guidelines and GCP
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis and interpretation of clinical data
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
