Job Summary

Walgreens Advertising Group is seeking a transformational leader to serve as Head of Client Services, responsible for leading and evolving our client service, account management, and customer success organization. This individual will play a critical role in strengthening how WAG partners with advertisers, agencies, and internal stakeholders while elevating the capabilities, performance, and strategic impact of our client-facing teams.

The ideal candidate is a proven retail media leader who has built and led high-performing account management and client service organizations within a retailer-owned media network. They will bring a track record of developing talent, driving operational excellence, strengthening client relationships, and leading teams through significant growth and transformation.

Job Responsibility
  • Manages clients with upfront commitments, ensuring fulfillment of Joint Business Partner (JBP) commitments and spending through integrated team collaboration.
  • Establishes and maintains enterprise connectivity and integrations.
  • Secures RFPs and drives renewals for existing non-JBP clients, focusing on driving continued investment and seeking brand dollars from agencies.
  • Leads media planning efforts to complete RFPs and provide strategic insights to sales for client-facing sales.
  • Supports strategic accounts by responding to RFPs, providing rationale and strategy, and offering insights/actions for campaign optimization and upselling.
  • Secures RFPs with existing non-JBP clients or new clients with the goal of increasing spending, focusing on driving account growth through strategic sales efforts.
  • Secures upfront commitments and RFPs with existing and new clients, leveraging media planning expertise and potentially integrating with Center of Excellence (COE) as needed.
  • Collaborates with clients to collect campaign inputs, traffic creative, and facilitate campaign execution and optimizations.
  • Sets up campaigns, lead execution, and provide input on channel strategies and optimizations based on campaign results.
  • Drives the sales cycle by building a strong pipeline of demand for advertising solutions and actively listening to client needs.
  • Serves as a consultant to understand client needs and pitch advertising and data solutions.
  • Maintains and refine sales collateral, presentations, and training materials.
  • Develops cross-functional teams and foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.


External Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of experience in sales and account management OR High School/GED and at least 11 years of experience in sales and account management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Significant experience leading, managing and overseeing multiple stakeholders (e.g., vendors, marketing agencies, media owners) and cross-functional teams to achieve aggressive organizational goals
  • Established relationships with relevant advertisers, agency teams, and media agency and media holding company relationships to drive consideration and ultimately achieve revenue goals for WAG
  • Detail-oriented marketer with a proven track record developing and managing sales collateral, presentations, reports, and project plans
  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in sales and account management.
  • MBA/Master's degree.
  • Current or former Director, Senior Director, or VP-level leader with a strong track record of organizational leadership.
  • Deep retail media experience, ideally within a retailer-owned media network.
  • Proven success partnering with CPG brands, agencies, and advertisers.
  • Strong understanding of retailer operations across merchandising, marketing, media, and sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and lead high-performing Client Services, Account Management, Customer Success, and post-sale support teams.
