Senior Capture Director - Peraton's Health, State and Local Sector (HSL)

Peraton is seeking an accomplished Senior Capture Director to lead strategic growth initiatives across our HSL Sector. This is a player-coach leadership role responsible for both personally leading high-priority captures and managing a team of Capture Managers supporting the Sector's Growth objectives.

The ideal candidate will drive strategic pursuits ranging from $100M to over $1B in contract value, while mentoring, coaching, and developing capture professionals responsible for building a sustainable pipeline of growth opportunities. This leader will partner closely with Business Development Executives, Solution Architects, Technical SMEs, and Executive Leadership to shape winning strategies and deliver innovative solutions across Mission Engineering, Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Cloud, and Enterprise IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a player-coach by directly leading strategic captures while managing and developing a team of Capture Managers.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to capture personnel, ensuring consistent application of capture best practices and business acquisition processes.
  • Drive accountability, performance, and professional development across the capture organization.
  • Support workforce planning, resource allocation, and capture staffing priorities across the Health and state and local markets.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • 18+ years of professional experience, including 8+ years of full lifecycle Federal capture management experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading and winning large, complex Federal pursuits ranging from $100M to over $1B in contract value.
  • Proven experience operating in a player-coach capacity, successfully leading strategic captures while managing, mentoring, and developing Capture Managers or growth professionals.
  • Prior people leadership experience with responsibility for managing capture personnel, performance, workload prioritization, and professional development.
  • Proven experience leading federal civilian priority pursuits and coordinating cross-functional teams consisting of Business Development Executives, Solution Architects, Capture Managers, Pricing teams, and Technical Subject Matter Experts.
  • Demonstrated success capturing opportunities involving AI, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Cloud Modernization, Digital Transformation, Mission Engineering, or Enterprise IT solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Federal acquisition processes, procurement regulations, contracting vehicles, and competitive positioning strategies.
  • Track record of developing and executing successful capture strategies resulting in measurable revenue growth.
  • Experience building strategic partnerships and negotiating teaming agreements with industry partners and subcontractors.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in technical or business related field
  • Established customer relationships and industry network within the Federal marketplace.
  • Active participation in industry associations, conferences, and professional organizations.

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
